steering wheel controls - getting warm

I have an 04 TL 6MT with about 66,800 miles. I just purchased it and drove it 690 miles home and noticed the steering wheel control area (silver/grey colored parts) get warm after good amount of driving.

I felt around other interior parts and did not notice them getting warm.

This normal? If not, what is the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for input.

Also, it gets warm and stays same temp, does not increase. It is not too hot to touch, simply gets warm.

If you're running with the headlamps on in the day and have your dash set at MAX, these controls will get warm.

so turn the dash lights down all the way in the daytime~

at night run them at minimum needed to see the guages
that helps your night vision stay focused on available outside light,
not transition from bright guage back to dark road

heh, ya i have mine set fairly dark for just that reason, but that's quite annoying when you turn your headlights on during the day because it's raining.

Thanks for the extra comments, they were helpful.

The dash lights are set to max brightness. I'll dial it back a bit then.

** Learned today (purchased car past weekend) I can program memory settings for side mirrors, driver seat & temp controls via keyless entry remote when unlocked. How spoiled I am now. What an upgrade from a 91 Accord DX 5MT. **
