Steering question
First time poster...long time thread searcher.

Just completed the following DIY stuff (thanks to many other threads on this site):
[Left And Right]
Compliance bushings,
Control arm bushings,
Upper and lower ball joints,
Sway bar links,
Tie rod ends,
Alignment...not DIY...I know my limits.
Now, after all was accomplished, there is a popping noise associated with the steering wheel turning. Vehicle is still.
If my hands are at 10 and 2, I turn the steering wheel a quarter turn to either side of center and I hear a pop in both directions. I can feel it in the steering wheel as well. Sound is heard on left front wheel area.
At first I thought CV (still might be) but am thinking it is something else. Boots are fine. When doing the work mentioned, I had no issues with the axle. The popping does not seem to be connected to a wheel rotational occurrence...though the popping does continue to occur into and out of a turn.
I will note, when trying to identify the noise by turning the wheel multiple times on jacks, the PS fluid began to leak out of the reservoir top. No other leaks were identified. Fluid was cleaned off and reservoir refilled, no issues leak signs after.
Again, all the sounds appear on driver side front area.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
