Stealership or Dealership price for Brakes?

Rear Brakes are 0mm on one side, 4mm on left side, I was told. This destroyed the right rear caliper.
Installation A: I was told $285 for replacement rear pads, refinishing the rear rotors, and a new right rear caliper.

Apparently front brakes are even worse?
Installation B: I was also told front brakes/rotors need replaced, would cost $690

Questions:

1) Is A or B a fair deal?

2) Are caliper's covered under warranty from Acura? This was my last service before warranty expired, I thought caliper's would count, but maybe not.

Thanks for any help. I suck at car maintenance.

i thought stealership is one in the same as dealership....

and why would option B be more expensive when in option A you're buying a caliper....

can you spell out the options out again, in a more clear and concise way?

I'm a bit lost here too. Are you looking to get one service or another and not both? Or are you just seeing if those price quotes are reasonable for the services?

I can't vouch for dealership rates on brake jobs but you'd be better off buying the parts and going to an independent shop (unless you're willing to DIY of course).

BrakeMotive FTW here! They can't help for the caliper, but full pads and rotors would run you less than $250 in parts. And pricing from the dealership is probably about right. Mine wanted about $1,200 for the complete brake job.

Mine charges $200 for doing rear pad job inc. parts. $500 for front (brembo) pad job inc parts.

No idea what they charge for rotors or if it adds to labor time.

They just said they will only replace the right rear caliper under warranty if I get the whole job done there ($290)

Is it true that if my pad on rear right has 0mm left, it will instantly damage the caliper again?! This is why they are denying only replacing the caliper.

so they are only cover for the cost of replacing one rear caliper? seem like you can't avoid having to spend $800 for a brake job.

If they agree to replace it under warranty, it shouldn't matter if you "get the whole job done there." They're just trying to screw with you and scare you into doing it. I would stand my ground and insist that they fix it.

I'd take it to a different dealer.

Thanks. Argued w/ them over the phone, they agreed to finally let me fix it. Told me to get my brake job done elsewhere and bring it back - they didn't want to touch the brake caliper until I got new pads/rotors for "liability purposes".

Whatever, getting the caliper replaced free is all that I care about. Thanks for the advice!

Wanted to clear this up - yes they are the same. I was asking if that was a stealership price or a dealership price, jokingly. (Very High vs High Price)

FYI, changing the front pads would be the easiest DIY ever. I did it last week and it literally took me 30 mins. to do both sides. Changing the caliper would not be that difficult and the rotors wouldn't be difficult either. The dealer price for a brake job is ridiculous.

Cool! I hope you're right. I bought the BrakeMotive kit so I'll be attempting my first install, then taking the car back to the dealership for my free caliper install.
