Start/Launch

Hi - I know this has probably been asked a thousand times before...but what is the best way to launch a 3rd gen AT TL?

I am going to the track tommorow night for the first time and was going to try a couple of different methods.

a) Keep traction on and just pin it
b) Try Low gear then switch to auto
c) try my luck with the sportshift

Any thoughts?

thanks!

Keep traction control off, use sports shift, and change gears right before it hits the redline.

That's exactly what I would do, but I'm no professional driver.

That is what I do. But without good tires you will spin a little off the line. If you spin try going 1/4 throttle until it gets moving and then smash it. Using sportshift and shifting at 6500rpms, that way the car will actually shift at 6700. I use it and you see my best time.

Calgary eh? I use trac off, SS and about 2/3 throttle from dig. Tire makes one or two chirps and car starts moving.

we should meet up sometime for fun.
