SSM or WDP?
Hi everyone, My STI is sold this upcoming saturday and i have been looking to get a05-06 TL. I wanted to get a white one with black interior along with Nav, but the black interior is becoming very hard to find on white TL's.
So I found a :
06 white TL with black interior and no nav for 20,500 and 40k miles with remaining factory warranty
vs
06 SSM TL with black interior and Nav, tinted windows and only 21k miles with certified 7yr 100k warranty for 21,900
Im not sure what to do.... The silver of coarse seems the better deal, but I originally wanted a white TL.
For the last 2 mths I've acted like an addict trying to find a white TL/black int/nav and no success, unless it was a 07 with really low miles thats more then what Im willing to pay.
So does anyone have any suggestions? Is it worth getting the nav? Center console looks out of place IMO without it. I will be driving my company vehicle until I find a TL, so I wanted to make this transition of selling the STI and getting a TL fast.

Well I just think white is more pimp and stands out more, but I just want a TL.
I needed a bigger 4 door then the STI and I am totally sick of how much parts/maint./gas is for it. The TL will suite my needs way better then the STI for being a daily driver.

I would get the Nav for sure and look at the 06 SSM TL option pretty seriously. I have a WDP now, but like SSMs as well. You'll be happy which ever way you go. There have been many people that have had regrets not getting the Nav- much more than exterior color choice or even interior. If you like the black interior get it in that- it looks pretty sharp.

yeah, no matter what i want black interior. Most white tl's have tan with wood trim which doesnt fit my personality.
Considering what I have seen in the last 2 mths, that silver TL seems like a great deal.

I would go for the SSM too. Nav is a big plus, And silver is very forgiving in the wintertime.

The SSM one seems like a much better deal. 21k miles with a 7 year, 100k warranty is a big bonus along with the Navi. The extra $1K would be worth it as SSM is a very nice color. Easy to take care of.

"settle" and get the ssm. you'll love it soon enough and it'll save your wallet in the long (100,000 miles) run. the navi and warranty would be enough to sway me away from being color locked.

WDP on Ebony is a sweet color combo- When I bought my TL back in 05 I originally wanted WDP/Quartz (grey interior) cause the WDP/Ebony only became avail as of 06. I ended up going NBP/Ebony and I love my TL but everytime I see a WDP I sometimes wished I would have just waited and shopped a little more. Moral of the story - If you have your heart set on WDP/Ebony wait for it so you don't have any regrets later. I do admit SSM is a very nice color also. Oh by the way-you do know about the WDP paint mismatch right?

I have WDP and love it but SSM is nice too. Had a SSM TSX before the TL-S. The SSM is the better of the two deals. It has the black interior you want and NAVI. Let's face it, you'll see the interior more than the exterior anyway. Plus it a CPO car. If you must buy quickly, go with the SSM.

I thought acura changed the silver in 06 to ASM. I thought our SSM color was discontinued after 05?
The SSM is a really great color, when its dirty it still looks clean compared to the WDP, some people also noticed that on the WDP the bumpers faded to a cream color. Dont know the reason for that but i have noticed it on some other WDP TLs too. The NAV is a key point, i regret not getting a NAV in my TL. Dont settle for any color, go for the color you want, but do a little more research into the WDP about the bumpers fading and see if you want to deal with the color fading if its an issue or not.

telling u right now, the WDP is sick, if u get the SSM youll regret not getting the WDP, the pearl is so luxurious and pimp, SSM is a color for a corolla or a civic. no offence to SSM/ASM owner.

So I called Acura about the ASM certified TL and they told me that they dont accept deposits and told me to call before I come which sucks because the earliest I can drive there is Saturday, not to mention its 3 hr drive so I'd be pissed if I drove down and then someone bought it.
I guess I'll just have to be patient...Hmm WDP is pure sex. I never heard about the rear bumpers changing colors.

I do agree, its only a car to get from point A to point B and needless to say all the TLs are nice, just some colors are more appealing to others.
I am more set on nav with all black interior the the outside color, but if I had my way- WDP w/Nav & black interior
Price is a factor to me also, I love to bargain shop.

WDP w/ nav was my first choice when i was shopping for my TL, but i got a deal on my SSM in 05 that i just couldnt pass up. but i regret not getting the navi. get your way, the way you want it, dont settle...but SSM is still a really nice color in my opinion.

I liked both colors so much I got both. The ASM on my TL is alot easier to keep clean and looks very sophisticated and elegant. But the WDP on my Type S is straight gangster and looks really great in full sun. I would try and wait for a good deal on an 07-08 WDP Type S and don't look back.

You can just get the WDP with black interior and put the OEM navi in afterwards. It's been done b4. Here's a link https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/i-142-yet-another-non-navi-navi-conversion-success-story-640304/

I had a NBP acura integra gsr, on that note I will never own another black car again. Body maintenance on black cars is way too much upkeep for me, but when done right NBP is great.
Why did they make so many WDP with Biege interior w/ wood trim? Finding black interior w/no wood trim in WDP isnt becoming easy. If anyone finds one send me the links!
BTW looking 05-07 WDP no more then 23k w/less then 40k miles, prefer'd CPO.

I had the choice similar to yours when I bought my SSM. I was torn between the WDP and SSM, but the WDP didn't have the navi and ended up being a better deal on the SSM. I would definately get one with a Navi, my new truck didn't have Navi so I just installed a aftermarket Kenwood, but its not the same as a factory option.

the only tl's in toronto were non navi, so the choices were ssm/nbp/am...
nbp you can't see the distinctive TL body lines and there's way to many ssm TL driving around toronto.
i went AM because it's the best both worlds between SSM and NBP dark enough silver to still see the body lines but dark enough to be in stealth mode
I know where i'm going most of the time, and you don't really need navi to get to work.. only on those rare occasions you're travelling out of town or to some random place.
would i have picked navi if it didn't cost me 2000 bucks more, yeah, can i live with out it, yup.. the big thing is safety as well, since you'll be looking at the screen rather than driving to adjust your settings.
i saw this first hand with a 335i idrive system... it's so freaking complicated......

I dont need the NAV but the center console looks displaced without it. I have found some TL's with nav in great condition cheaper then ones with higher mileage and no NAV. I definitely wouldnt pay 2k extra just for it.
