I would say a great number of people have the guards on their TL's....most dealers were offering these in a "protection package" for a few hundred dollars or an added free perk when purchasing a new TL.

I however don't have the guards.

I think they would look just fine on a NBP car though. Just my $.02.

I got the "protection package" on my ABP and the guards look just fine. You barely even notice they're there.

I have a white TL and they look good. With black you will hardly notice them.

If you want to save money and put them on yourself, check this out http://www.handa-accessories.com/tl.html

They are easy to install andf you don't have to drill any holes.

I have them on my NBP...they blend right into the lines of the car.

You should keep an eye on this eBay auction...you might be able to get them on the cheap.

I've them on my NBP. You can hardly notice those on NBP. Helps a lot to get less dirt on. I've pictures in my gallery but what can I say.

I have them on my Anthracite TL. I like the way they look but the primary reason I got them is to help keep dirt/water off the lower quarters. It seems like in my community, they like to putthe sprinklers on right before I go to work or right before I get home. Half the time they are watering the street instead of the grass and the water gets all over my cars. It's a PIA to kick up dirt/water when your car is clean...

It's your decision whether or not to put them on.

But, please don't remove them afterwards. If removing, you may see some scratches all around the places you have guards on.

My car is quite ok in NYC. For me, I don't see any big needs to have them on my 04TL... IMO.

I hear good and bad about splash guards. Haven't used them since the mid-eighties and my cars always looked great. No noticeable damage or dirt on the sides. I remember an article on VTEC that discouraged using them. Here's the link.

Not if you know what to do to 100% prevent the possibility of scratches! I've posted the solution several times already, and have done it myself on this and other cars. Basically - 3M "clear bra" material under the guard.

I have them on my NBP; you do not see them, and they do a good job of splash protection.

I'm sure some works could prevent it happening... I knew your post and your way is definitely good.

I just found out that you may need to remove them, if you are getting the gound kit because they won't fit. (unless we get clever and do some creating trimming)

My WDP has them because they came as part of the "protection package" others have posted about. It was already on the car before I bought it but I was able to get them to not charge me for it. IMHO, they look good and keep the lower portion of the car behind the tires cleaner for a longer period of time. That makes it worthwhile for me but it really is a matter of personal choice. Try to find cars in your color both with and without them to help you determine if they are right for you.
