the rims with the extra piece of metal that keeps on spinning at a stop. popularly seen as "dubs" (20 inch rims) on escalades.

If you're someone with an extra $5000-$25,000 laying around with nothing else to spend it on, why not?

You could fool a G35er you want to race against that you're starting early so he'll get the jump on you so you can watch him get broadsided.

Maybe on a tricked out Escalade, with 8 TV flat panels, PS2, XBOX, and 24" rims. Not on the TL.

i hope no one put spinners on the TL. if they do please, please do not put it on an SSM

they have the add-on spinners now ROFL where you can add spinners on any rim. stupid thing is if you stop at a light not all 4 spinners spin. saw a cavilier with them and it was the funniest thing i've ever seen. the front spins but the back was hardly spinning at all :lol2:

so please i beg anyone who is considering this not to. if i see one i'd probably call the police and report the car stolen and vandalized

I want the opposite of spinners. I want wheels that look like I am not moving, even while I am doing 70 on the freeway. Now THAT would be cool.

Edit: I have already submitted an application for a patent, so don't any of you try and steal my idea!!

I saw this car that had the really CHEAP spinners, and one of his didn't really work so well. He stopped at the light and one of his spinners pretty much stopped as soon as he did. Only one kept going!

AHHHHH - that was ghetto!

they should make voice activated spinners that integrate with the TL console

to turn them on the command should be "spinners on"
to turn them off the command should be "spinners out"

:lol2:

I've always heard them referred to as Sprewells. Are you guys familiar with that term?

Now you know the odds are that spinners will be installed on a SSM or Anthracite simply because those two colors are most produced by Acura.

As far as reporting them to the police excellent idea, I am rolling on the floor with laughter!!!

Yes they were called that originally when they were made for SUVs, then they became spinners as they were "mass produced" for other types of vehicles.

It takes a certain amount of "self confidence" to install those things...Think I am gonna check e-bay to see if they have any to go over my oem 17"

I just saw like an 88 Toyota Tercel with Hub Cap Spinners on it. That was damn funny.

BTW: I think Sprewell came up with the idea or was the first person to have them. I think that particular model was called the Sprewells. But then again, what the hell do I know about that garbage.

You should get a beating for doing that..but I have seen the caps that were spinners and the the one thing that came to me was,At what point in the thought process is putting them on your car a good idea,I would think that you could only get them in 14 or 15 inch so at best they would look like crap and make the owner look like a dipwad but hey their are people out their that would rather have a windstar than a TL..so I guess that somewhere THEIR is a TL with spinners,My guess is it's in LA and black..

My friends have told me they have seen vans with spinners on them. Man, people in the ghetto (no offense to anyone) will put spinners on anything.

Including sneakers...

You are little late for that. The patent is pending. I saw these STOPPERS on eBay the other day. Exactly installed like spinners but the outer one stands still.

Obv. What it does is open the steering wheel, extend a hand on a bar, and slap you in the face until you cry.

http://www.sprewellracing.com/about.htm

Latrell Sprewell owns his own racing company, and I believe he got a lot of recognition for being one of the first for putting this design on cars and trucks (mostly celebs did their cars though his company).

I used to drive an Escalade, and didn't put them on that---I wouldn't even dream of having it on my TL..........

i have actually seen a set on a 04 tl. it was like 2 months back in deerfield beach fl. I think it had come off the sawgrass parkway. it was kind of dark, but i think it was either silver or white, but the car deff had spinners on it, the car was stopped at the corner of Sw 10th and Powerline, and it was on the 10th st side. I would have thought it was deff someone on this site, come on someone confess. WHO IS IT.

They are called "Sprewells" for Latrell Sprewell of the Minnesota Timberwolves (formerly of the New York Knicks). He owned a rim and tire store up in NY where either he or someone in his shop invented the spinner. They were initially for SUVs, but then someone got the disturbing idea of putting them on a passenger car, and the rest is gaudy history.
