I'm going to change out my right side half shaft this weekend due to the clicking during low speed sharp cornering. I found the thread on how to change it, but in order to save a trip to the parts store, does anyone know what size socket to get to remove the axle spindle nut? I'm sure I don't have the correct size. Thanks

 

i just did mine and used 36MM socket, seemed to work fine for me, it also fits the oil filter cover on my F-350 and the nut for the GSXR rear wheel. The thing is huge but has come in handy for me!

 

Oh, and if you plan on popping out the ball joint from the knuckle to the lower arm, be very careful, it is an expensive part to mess up. I found that removing the lower arm from the frame, verticle bolt is 19mm, horizontal bolt is 17mm is much easier and still gives enough play to get the half shaft out of the hub. Good luck.

Hey guys I have a 2006 acura TL (6 Speed) and the dealer replaced both axles at 45k miles and now I am hearing a clicking every now and than when turning as well. I have 83k miles now, can these axles really be bad again? Can you please send me that DIY axle assemply instructions as well bc I have a feeling I am going to have to replace them.
