A-Spec front lip install--How much?

I just got my A-Spec front lip from Hondacuraworld---fast shipping, great price, highly recommended.
So I called a local body shop to ask how much to install and they say $150. I put the question out to my AZ brethren---how much should this install cost from a reputable shop?
I understand its something I can do myself, but it's just too friggin cold!

It should take no longer than 30 minutes, whether its you or a shop, so I would say any more than $50 is too much. I did my kit myself, so I honestly don't know, but that's my guess

I guess since it's Friday I'll give everyone a laugh.

I went to the stealership the other day for a number of warranty issues. It was taking a while, 3 or 4 hours to be ballpark. I was BS'ing with the service rep and I asked him "say, how much would an aspec body kit install be? the lip, side skirts, and rear lip." he got on the phone with the parts guy and went back to talk to a tech to see how long it would take so he could charge labor. He comes back to me and has the balls to tell me $1600 installed. I told him I could buy 3 aspec kits myself with that money. There ya go

i have a story like that aswell a while back my navigation wasnt working and i wen to the dealership myself, they told me i need a whole new navi and it would cost $3800 just for parts,so i just left it like that and later on i found out the i just need some new wires and the clips that go under the passanger side seat that only cost $35

they was actually chargeing me 100X more than what it actualli cost to fix it

Yeah just throw it on yourself it's easy. One tip though for the sides of the front and rear lips they tend to loose the grip of the 3m tape and start to puull away from the bumper. Put some silicone on the inside of the lip under the tape and that will help hold it.

If I were to bill this if someone brought it into my shop (well old shop) I would quote an hour. I wouldn't care if you told me you read online that someone did it in 30 min...

If you want to do it yourself there are directions posted on AZ (i think - they come it with it too). Fairly straightforward.

Drive to jersey and I will install it for you. I live an hour away, and will do it for nowhere near that cost.

I wouldn't put it on until spring so the 3m tape will stick good. just my opinion. Hell if you want to drive up to NYC we can do it when I throw my brothers' lip kit on his rl and that's more of a pain!!

Dealership quoted me $714 for the labor to install the A-spec body kit and $714 labor to install A-spec suspension. That's the reason I'm still stock. DIY is the way to go, but I'm not up to that challenge.

Holy shit. The aspec suspension took me 3 hours in my garage with no air tools and jack stands. That is a ridiculous amount of labor they are charging.

UPDATE! Installed the front lip myself. Took about an hour because I wanted to make sure it was right. Easy install. Anyone who is considering this should think twice about paying to have it done. Spend the money on the tools to install it yourself:
Sharpie
Center Punch
Drill with 3mm, 6mm & 10mm bits
3M Double Sided Tape
Philips Head Screwdriver

Thank you, does anyone know where I can find the DIY for the front lip install? Or even the whole rear and side also? Thanks in advance.

More specifically, the factory instructions are posted in PDF format here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...96&postcount=1

The link given above is the 3G Garage, which contains multiple DIYs on this topic with pics and installation tips.

Hondacuraworld has closed its online shop, unfortunately. I believe the AZ contact was let go, as well.
However, there is a new vendor on AZ who just announced himself today in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/new-acura-dealer-aspec-kit-group-buy-%24775-shipped-update-dates-extended-766707/
$695 for the full A-Spec kit is crack pricing!
