hey guys i know this may be off the topic..but since i dont know this website very well i really dont know where else to post this..so here we go..i ordered my aspec kit about a month ago to which i was VERY VERY satisfied..anyone who hasnt ordered one yet..should order w/hondaworld...anyhow..after i installed the kit not even a week later i was rear ended by a SUV and took my car to the body shop. i had to get a new bumber and a new aspec rear lip. so i went to go pick my car up yesterday, and i wasnt satisfied w/the paint job. but after examining the rear bumber i noticed that on the left side of the rear bumber where the factory vin number sticker is,they had painted over it. so i poked at the sticker a lil and ended up peeling off what seemed to be formerly a clear plastic piece that was painted over. and after peeling that off..i noticed that the vin number was not there. i know that ordering from after market bumber from acura that there wont be a "vin" number sticker there but should there be a generic looking "R-H(honda symbol)DOT.sticker? if any of u guys who works for acura parts know anything or can send me picks of what it should look like i would greatly appreciate the help and ill even send 40$ money order who can help me out w/this..thats free money!! i just want to make sure the body shop didnt order generic parts and claim them to be from "acura" and which by the way the rear aspec lip had a crap load of "orange peel" in which they claim that it came that way from "acura". PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

I have a question for you guys. I want the 07's TL-S Aspec Rear kit only, I don't care for the front end.

Now, my question is would it look right with the stock side skirts or should I get the Aspec sides as well?

There will be an R-DOT sticker on the cover, but you'll have to remove the cover to be able to tell, as it's inside. What year is the TL?

i have a black 06' TL. is there anyway i can tell if any of the parts such as the rear spoiler is from a factory acura dealer? i do have an R-DOT sticker on the left side of the rear bumber. but how can i tell on the rear spoiler? is there a certain place where the sticker would be? i know for a fact that the quality parts i bought from u did not look as bad as my aspec rear spoiler..it looked like it came unpainted and they painted it..due to such horrible "orange peel" the ones i recieved from u ....the paint was as smooth as a baby's butt..but the one that they put on my car...my car looked like it had a serious case of bad acne!

 

I've been trying to research the forum for answers/photos, but haven't quite found what I'm looking for.

I have an '07 KBP Type-S and recently bottomed out the front underside of the bumper - it's cosmetic only and you have to hunker WAY down to see it (looking under the front of the bumper)

Do I need a new bumper or will the A-spec kit replace or hide the scrape (about 3.5 feet long)?

I'm trying to decide on how to proceed:
A) Purchase a new OEM replacement bumper
B) Purchase the A-spec kit
C) Repair the bumper (this would be a bit of work, however)
D) Some other option I haven't thought of

If the front underbody piece of the A-spec kit would do the trick, can it be purchased separately?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

By the way, how easy is the installation for those A-spec body kits?

Ok so the type s and 07-08 base front bumpers have a different lower grill size than the 04-06 ones. It's slightly larger so the lip doesnt fit exactly. I mean I guess you can mod the bumper by cutting it up for the lip to fit, but personally, i wouldnt do that. If anything, you could always buy a type S bumper or base TL bumper and then get the aspec kit for whichever you like better.

I was wondering, could I go to Hondacuraworld and pick this up? Only asking because im from Toronto, it would be better than having to pay shipping and handling, plus duties. I would just get a local shop to install then come back.

Shipping in the US is free at Hondacuraworld. just pay handling. I am not sure about Canada and duties. I am sure Tim will chime in.

nope, the aspec kit is considered accessory/optional when you purchase the car doesn't matter which trim - base or Type s.
