A-Spec

What is A-Spec? Is it an option? Do I ask the dealer for it? Is it like a type-s?

Its everything you would expect to get in a performance upgrade... except perfromance (in the engine).

New suspension, bigger wheels, spoiler, body kit, brakes (I think only MT), sport steering wheel and a badge. Not really worth 5k+.

A-Spec is a suspension/appearance performance package. It adds:
Spoilers - Frond/Side/Rear Under and your choice of wing or lid.
Sportier Steering Wheel
Springs and Shocks that lower the car (I think it has .8 inches?)
18'' wheels
Brembos to the Automatic Transmission TL
A-Spec Badges

It is not like the type-s in the sense that no engine modifications are made.
You could get it at the dealer or buy the pieces separately and install yourself.

The only thing I really want is the body kit. Don't really care for the bigger rims, although I am sure I would like them more. Just indifferent right now I guess. The suspension, steering wheel, and brakes would definitely be nice... but I am more than content with the stock setup.

Think you could buy a TL for sticker and have them throw A-Spec in? Or is it just too much to give?

I think it's too much to give. A-Spec is $6200 installed. That is about 20% of the car price. But you never know what would be priority of the dealer at the time. If there is an A-Spec on the lot not moving (which is unlikely for awhile) then dealer might cut a deal of some kind. But Free A-Spec will be very very very rare.
