Spark Plug Questions
So i was told recently that i should only put NGK plugs in my car and about a week ago i put some boschs in the guy told me i should take them out right away so i guess what im askin should i go grab some NGK's and replace them or will the bosch's be fine
Bosches will be fine, but I would maybe change them a little sooner than later (maybe 50-70, instead of 100,xxx)
Kind of like putting lower premium gas in your car. You dont have to syphon everything out cause its going to blow up, but you will get better performance with the good stuff in there.
Not really sure how much of a difference plugs make though, but just to be safe I would consider the NKG the stuff to have

Acura approves 2 brands for a reason- our hi energy ignition and bosch plugs are not a match!!!
Denso cost more and last less mile, so NGK Iridium are what is stock in the car and the best choice replacement at this time.
Yank the bosch now and return them as wrong item
Install NGK
Enjoy
did your buddy say seafoam is bogus too?

seafoam is only bogus if you are able to totally disregard ALL the instructions here saying slow slow sip sip is the way to get it in the vac port---
and you dump a full can in the intake vac in 5 seconds...the engine stutters-stalls and backfires, dousing you in seafoam,,
but you really have to try hard to do that
But get the bosch plugs out- other members ran them for a few months then reported better running car when put back on the proper japanese plugs for japanese cars!!!
Bosch goes in bmw~ I replaced many hundreds of them over the years

I had denso before, it cost me more money and lasted only about 30k. I then put on NGK iridium. I would not put anything else but NGK-i from now on. The NGK is said to be able to last about 40 to 50k.
I would go with NGK-i.
I would go with NGK-i.

you need more info!!!
there is NO need to change the plugs after foam unless you have high mileage plugs AND you fail to do the after drive- then you will carbon load the old plugs and need to replace.
Most of us have over 70k when we foam so we go ahead and do the plugs
If you do the oil- then you need to change the oil and filter

i should have been more specific when i said change the oil and mentioned the filter as well. i thought that was common knowledge.
i didn't know about the carbon loading on the plugs without doing the drive afterwards. i agree don't change them if they're not high mileage tho

read the can! or google or wiki or seafoamsales.com
it dissolves carbon-glaze-crud buildup in the carbs/injectors, cleans the intake valves (better fuel distribution to the cylinder), and the piston tops (better combustion on clean surface)
So basically- its tune up in a can--that really works- since 1940!!
In the oil, it dissolves buildup in the oil passages, cleans the piston rings (better seal) and all the tiny ports oil goes thru get a good scrubbing
My oil filter was full of crud after 150 mile drive with seafoam- on a new filter~

bosch are not friendly with our ignition system
Acura allows 2 brands- for a reason- designed to work with the japanese engine designs.
Everyone who has changed back to the correct NGK Iridium plug.. found increased mileage, and it ran like a TL again!!
Plugs may appear fine visually, but the reality of how they work- performance starts downhill about 60-70k miles, and the book says replace at 105 with the timing belt- assuming normal service duty- but look at the book and many drivers are in the severe duty list of car use
Replacing them early will not hurt and should improve mileage- the payback~

The bosch is fine.Actually, its one excellent brand of spark plug. That guy is just jealous.Or if he is a mechanic,he just want to make some $$$$
No- its proven on the TL by members of this forum
bosch does not work correctly and will wear out fast!!!!
NGK last longer than the other apporved brand- Dendo- denso also cost more!
Acura put NGK in there for a reason
Every japanese designed car or motorcycle I ever worked on had NGK as stock and replacement plug
Only cars I ever saw Bosch in was BMW's and certain other Euro cars
Oddly enough- my american vehicles have always come with/approved champion or ac.
go figure
But the FACT remains- users here have switched back after a few months of deciding, and found it ran better with NGK Iridium
I still get a laugh at the OP statement, knew to buy ngk so installed bosch.....tff

Since you only have to change the plugs every 100K miles it only makes sense to get the best plugs in there. I've seen the OEM NGK's at 105K miles on a J35 motor and they look great.
who are you talking to to get this bogus info ?????? well- stop it!
they are not in tune with the TL needs!!
read the owner book- if you are running long distance hi speed trips only- then a step colder plug will last longer and work better for you
For all other normal operation- stick with what the book/underhood sticker calls for.
This does not apply to heavily modified-turbo-s/c cars of course-
but you guys know what plugs to run!
