How many miles a year do you plan on driving the car?
When I was working out deals before i bought my 07 a couple months ago with 0 down I was looking at about $550. The 395$ a month seems like an ok deal but you have to way in everything else. What the buy out gonna be, how many miles are you driving , ext, ext

Check out this thread for some input, titled, "Anyone want to share your tl lease"
I didn't lease, but hopefully that thread helps.
A 2001 with 38k miles (that's like 6,300 miles per year)! Wow, you don't drive very much - I would think you can get a pretty good lease price, as price is relative to mileage you negotiate, to some extent. I would also reccomend looking into the buyout price (keeping in mind that you're already giving them $7700 up front on the trade in).
Also, you might want to ask for a price without the $7700 factored in to see what the payments would go up to and what that difference comes out to over the lease term (i.e., if it goes from $395 to $495 over 4 years, that's only $4,800 more you're paying, which is less than $7,700). However, find out if any other terms change as a result of this (ex; buyout price, etc).
Hope this helps,
Steve

thanks alot fellas... the buyout price is around $21k which would make my total purchase of the car if i were to buy it after the lease amount to $35-36k total.
i dont really drive my cars much... and this would be my first lease if the deal goes through... if i dont do the trade in and put $1000 down my payments would be around $600 so more or less with the $7700 down my payments are around $200 less a month.
thanks again for the help.. any more input would be greatly appreciated
