Soon to be out of warranty
My 2004 TL is going to be out of warranty in mid February, I'm going to be keeping it for a while longer, probably at least another year.
Any suggestions what should I get looked at before I hit the 50,000 mark?
So far I had the AT tranny replaced at 42,000, plus the usual scheduled maintenace, Oil changes, brakes, etc.

cable2,
when did you purchase it? I have a 2004 and it was purchase on oct 2003. I have only like 26,000. don't drive it much!! I am guessing my warranty already expired.

I only have about 35,000 miles on mine. What were the symptoms of your transmission when it went bad? My VIN is in the 20,000 range. Was yours much lower?

It was shifting erratically and also felt very sluggish through acceleration, I though it was a fuel problem, I took it in, rode with the tech who confirmed that the transmission was failing.
I don't have the VIN inofmation with me.

Super low mile '04........
My SSM '04 that I bought new in December 2003 just went out of warranty last month with less than 16,000 miles. Zero problems from day one (except poor Bridgestones which I replaced with Michelin Pilot Sports) so I'm expecting none between now and when the '09's come out later this year. It's garaged, regularly maintained and detailed about every four months so I should do ok when I sell or trade it in the coming months. With the Fourth Generation TL expected to have a higher price, I hope it's the hit that the current TL was when introduced and has continued to be or I'll consider a BMW similarly priced. Looked at the RL's again this week and they are beautiful but they're just not for me.

I would have someone take a look at the front suspension. I had a ball joint fail at 61,151 miles. Not due to wear and tear, but due to material defect - it wasn't the ball or socket that failed, rather the metal (Aluminum?) piece holding the ball. Still fighting with Acura over who's paying for the repair.

What kind of indication were you having with Ball-Joint problem? I am getting a "racheting" sound on 90 deg. right turns, usually first thing in the morning. It is not ABS sound. It has been suggested that it may be Ball-Joints. Was your TL making this kind of sound?
Thanks
