Some 05 questions

I've been shopping for the tl for about 2 weeks now and finally narrowing down my search. I went to about 4 dealers in south florida so far only 2 dealers look good.

I'm looking at the 05 automatic with navigation nothing else special and I've gotten 2 quotes from dealers.

First dealer wants to give me it for $35,198 without taxes, dealer fees etc...I then emailed him about the a-spec package which would be $41,970

The other dealer is saying $33,700 and the a-spec would be roughly $7,000.

These are all internet prices (without haggle etc..). Are these good deals?

Second question, I just called up the first dealer and asked if the a-spec package could be put on after I buy it...say a couple weeks later I want it. He told me no you have to do it when you buy the car because they have to register it with acura as an a-spec.

I'm a little confused because I see posts on the forum about people getting certain parts and then getting dealers to put it on.

Can I buy the car then get a-spec on? Can I pick certain things I want from the package or is it all or nothing?

Both of the dealers said this car is selling as soon as they get in. They will take a down payment and order the car then call you when it's in, is this normal?

$33,700 is an average price with destination charges. $7K for the A-SPEC package is a little on the high side though.

I think the A-spec goes for $7k list. So you shouldn't pay that much.

Where are you buying? 33,700 is about right. I got $2700 off list on mine but its my 3rd car at this dealer in the last 3 years.

$33,700 is average price ppl are getting. try going in and haggle a bit, wont hurt. you can get the aspec kit on ebay for about $4k. and yes you can get the aspec at a later time if you chose to. good luck.

Thanks for the responses, it seems like this is a real hot car in south florida.

The colors that I want athracite/ebony are gone until sometime in february. Of course they want a down payment etc etc before it gets here to seal the deal. The sales guy is barely willing to budge since they are selling so fast. He pretty much has the mindset well I could sell this car easily for 35k why go down to 33k to match the other dealer.

The other dealer is a good distance away and I don't even think they have the car on the lot. Sounds like they want to get me there with a good price :/

The first dealer says they make no money on the a-spec they sell it at cost which is around $6600 or so they say. He told me the only way for it to officially be an a-spec is to get it from the factory or from a dealer before you buy.

I love the a-spec but that's real expensive not sure if I will do it

the A spec is too much cake if you ask me... There are no engine mods over the stock TL. Please correct me if I am wrong!! You could upgrade brakes and tires and save the additional cash...

A Spec has no engine mods. You'd have to upgrade brakes, tires, wheels, suspension, steering wheel, and get a body kit to get something comperable with what the A-Spec kit offers.

Not True at all. You can buy the car first from any dealer and get the aspec at a later time. All you have to do is call/go in and have them order it for you if they dont have it in stock.
