so what parts did you need to buy and whats an approximate cost?
i know you need the upper "lip" of the grille replaced (dark chrome on the leading edge of the hood) and the front bumper, but what else were your expenses?
looks awesome bro!

P.S. if you flip the lower grill it could be the 07 regular TL or the Type S.... one flip downward (Type S) and the other flip upward.
This is the curve I'm talking about:

hybridTL, looks nice. A suggestion, paint your plate holder to match the body color.

Both of you guys have done an excellent job in converting your front ends! They look great.
BUT...and I know I may get bashed for this...I fail to see how spending all that $$$ to make your car look like the OEM later year model makes sense. Seems...frivolous at best. If you really like the way the new one looks that much, it makes more sense to just trade up and simply own the newer year car. The cost differential can't be that big over changing out the entire front end of the vehicle.

the amount you will spend with this modification plus whatever you are currently paying for the car you own is still less than buying the next model year.
assuming you spend $4000 on this mod. thats still less than say, 7% interest over a five year term if you trade in your car "just to get the new model".
now i am just looking at this purely from an aesthetic perspective - keeping the car looking new. nothing being done in the areas of performance, power and other upgrades that the new model has. now if you plan to do all those as well, then it would make more sense trading up.

Looking for new mods
It's gonna be tough.... the type S bumper have more curve than the regular TL on the side.... and the dremel work is gonna take a lot of patience and time.... but if you need the new lower type S grill i still have them and sell them to u cheap... they're sitting in the garage doing nothing after I install the front lower spoiler....
P.S. if you flip the lower grill it could be the 07 regular TL or the Type S.... one flip downward (Type S) and the other flip upward.
You still have these lower grills? and do they it on the tl 07 base model...I am willing to buy them

'10 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
It would be a worthwhile mod for those who like the Type-S front end but hate the rear compared to the newer years.
All I know is the car looks great, and quite frankly that's all that matters right?
