I can't remove anything off the car, not even my floor mats......only personal belongings, if I was to part out and salvage anything i would have to buy back the whole vehicle after they deemed it a total lost............

I'm interested in a few parts if you decide to sell the parts you salvaged. Brakes pads & rotars, hood shocks, and fog lights. Please let me know, again sorry about your car.

Guys depending on how this goes I might buy the vehicle back and part out on the vehicle as my boss told me I can tow it to his friends shop and dismantle everything, I just have to figure out the details with his friend if I decide to do this. Also, it will depend on the settlement from insurance, no guarantees that it will happen but I want to keep it open as an option cuz I poured so much time, energy and money in to her a lot of her parts aren't even a year old!!!!!!! And it's a shame to see her go this way but atleast if I part out a piece of her will live on with the rest of the community of 3G TL lovers and I rather that then it goes to some random junk yard. I will keep you guys posted.

That's usually the best bang for your buck OP!

When I was in my recent accident, I bought back the car as well because the mods I put in far outweighed the different in price between total loss and salvage.

Then I sold off all the mods, fixed the car up, got a salvage title and it's now a beater car. It seems like you got some buyers lined up already so you're pretty set on that front

Good luck, I'd like to hear back on the ultimate outcome and your next ride!

lol i didnt notice the nose from the crank pulley when i left her at the holding yard, however her engine still fires right up and still sounds mean as hell, the stage 3 exhaust still sounds nice and throaty, i hope i can buy her back and part out. if that does go down i will only post it here on the black market as the facebook page of gen 3 TL has too many butt puckers and low ballers/trolls etc. i find more genuine TL lovers on here. everyone keep their fingers crossed and ill post more info when i hear back from my lawyer and insurance.

Sorry to hear. My wife was just in a wreck in my car. It really sucks, because of all the time and energy invested in the car.

a quick update, so caliber collision advised me they quoted $14,509.93 to fix the damage on her base on initial tear down and the unibody beam is buckled beyond repair, its still doable but the amount it will take to fix her up will keep climbing depending on what else they find..............they already placed her in the totaled category............... =((((((((((

even thoue i already knew this from the moment i saw the damage it still pains me to hear that shes really really really totaled................. will post more updates as i hear more for those interested in the part out IF IT HAPPENS.

If you willing to get the car back and parting out then people will interested as of now many people just "talk", I had the same experience back then with my 91 Legend LS MT, people ask all kind of thing but when I say I let go the whole car for $1000 then all the sudden everyone on board just when silence.

because everyone is thinking they can get away from dirt cheap prices. they want a 300 dollar part for like $50bucks and its not gonna happen, i might go "lower" price since its a used part but everything is in top condition. a lot of parts on my car is not even a year old yet. lol we will see how it goes if the buy back value is stupid than i will let her go to rest.

Being a mom, make sure you get new car seats! Being in an accident compromises the plastic that they are made out of... Insurance should cover them! Glad you are ok!

So went to see the tear down, rear quarter panel damage of course Impact separated the floor panel from rear panel welds, unibody beam buckled all the way to rear passenger seats, rear deck buckled 2 inches forward, rear Passenger airbag assembly mounts buckled and deformed, roof stress buckles everywhere rear passenger seat mounts deformed , I'm so glad my kids were not in the rear even with baby seats that was one hell of an impact.

If you plan to keep the car then you will need another TL ass end and weld them together like a guy with KBP rebuilt thread here. I think he said the labor+part would cost around $15k but he got a shop.

for whomever cares to read up till this point, insurance salvage bid is starting at $5000, as most damage is on unibody frame, engine, interior, transmission, wheels, interior electronics are still fully functional. i do not think i will be bidding the car back. sorry guys,.

Sorry to here man, what are your plans going forward? Noticed you said you would get the option for salvage bid once the settlement is final, hope the settlement was at least somewhat reflective of the time, effort, and money you put in.

i forfeited the salvage bid after settlement, after paying off the financial bank that hold my lien, minus the deductble, and other crap, im left with just enough to make a downpayment for a new 2015 Venza, (V6 AWD ofcourse) as i got 3 growing kids, need a bigger car.....but damn it was hard letting her go...........i wanted to keep her type-s badge but they lost it during the initial tear down of the vehicle, so i kept the coin holder in the arm rest compartment lol!!! just want to keep something of her, damn it she was a great car.

so guys, there is some bad news and some good news, bad news is that insurance will not reimburse any aftermarket mods more than 6 months back, so i lost out on all the mods i did when i first got her. and all the labor and other things iv done is all considered "maintenance" so they will not reimburse me for those either. so i lose out on some more, now the only good thing is that because i have swapped out a lot of parts and majority of them is OEM, and i keep the car real clean, wax every couple of months, after insurance company adjuster checked out the car they are offering me almost 25% above KBB value. i think that is the only positive outcome so far. so it looks like once settlement is final i will use the extra funds to make a down payment on a 2015 venza.

she will be missed very dearly.

thank you all for reading or following up till this point.
