Back on October 25th, 2016, unfortunately my 2004 TL was rear ended (causing me to rear end another vehicle) damaging the quarter panel, trunk, bumpers, exhaust system, passenger airbag/module (not sure why as I was the only one in the car, maybe a sensor was hit), windshield, dashboard and many other small things. Aside from my car being totaled, I was not injured at all, the most I felt was a strong jolt and after that I didn't feel any pain. All I can say is this is an extremely safe car, not many cars would have taken this impact as good as this one did. It was drivable surprisingly but the estimates to fix it were twice as much as the value of my car. Since then I have picked up a 2007 VW GTI 6-speed. I love it, but will never love it as much as my TL. I spent weeks searching for a TL or TSX 6-speed but I had no luck finding one so I considered different options.
I will post some pictures below.
The pictures of the TL were just hours before the accident.
Enjoy. I have a friend with a GTI that's always asking me to go track my car with him at Lime Rock in CT. I keep telling him my 6MT is my daily driver, and my only car, and I'm not going to go thrash the crap out of it cause I got kids to feed. Somehow the GTI seems more like something I'd want to track than a stock TL. I guess what I'm saying is, yeah, the 6MT TL is something we all have grown extremely close to but the GTI may open up a whole different perspective for you. So don't say "never".
Guess you'll also be looking for new forums and youtubers. Don't know much about VW forums but I the Humble Mechanic is a VW resource I got familiar with through Eric the Car Guy's channel. Eric's channel has always been a great Honda/Acura resource so maybe Humble is too. Dude looks like Aaron Kaufmann's (Gas Monkey) brother but don't be put off by that.

Makes sense, I didn't drive my TL like I drive my GTI. I would also rather track a GTI, the is more classy and for looks to me, but is also a sleeper. TL was a great daily driver and I would definitely own one again, I loved everything about that car, would have loved to find one in 6MT. The GTI is much more fun and more capable (tuning/speed wise) but the TL was just great all around for comfort and spirited driving. And thanks for the suggestions for YouTube, I am obviously new to VW so any info helps me.
