Small modification, nothing too crazy
I had been working on this small project and i like the result a lot, i hope you guys like it too
I have always like the 07-08 pannel ometer of the base and type s models, unlike the previous models which does not come with that chrome thing around. Let's see the differences.
04-06 tl
07-08
here is how mine turned out.

I'm clueless and lost.
even tho, there are pictures....a description would be great.
why'd you break off the piece? etc.
and for the life of me, I couldnt see the differences in the 04-06 vs the 07-08.
add a description to it, cuz at first my eyes were directed to the gauge cluster....then after staring at it for like 60 mins, I realized it was the chrome ring you wanted.

Yep it's just the silver ring. That is the only visual difference, kind of. The 'kind of' part is why I dremeled mine and why he broke his 04-06 off and epoxied it to the 07+. The reason being the 07+ have those buttons on the steering wheel, where ours are in the bottom right of the gauge bezel.
The advantages to his way over mine are
1) His buttons holes are "tighter". Mine aren't bad, better then anyone else's I've seen, but his look much better. It also took forever to dremel them.
2) Those buttons get screwed into the back, and since the 07" doesn't have those holes, I had to fab up a way. Obviously his are more secure. Mine aren't loose at all. But it took a long time to build up a way to mount them.
I can't believe this never came to me. Where he broke it the gap is small you'd barely be able to tell it was cut. I may actually go back and redo mine like this.

OP,
I'm really not trying to steal your thunder. We are one of the few I believe to have done this. And you must post pics too! I already had them so I figured I would show mine.
iPhone 4 pics sorry...

Edit: Yes my gas light is on. I ran late this morning. And yes my car is dusty. Shhh. Lol
Edit #2: And the camera/lighting makes the dinoc look more "blue" then it really is. It really pretty dark.

Ok, so his dash gauge panel broke, either before or after he took it off, and put a carbon fiber covered one in its place. Not so hard to understand, ....if I am understanding it correctly.

^No he intentionally broke off the bottom right corner of the old bezel ('04-'06), broke off the bottom right corner of the new bezel (07+), then expoxied the old corner onto the new bezel. Because the buttons aren't there in that year range, so they must be modified.

Those trim rings look very good, with or without the carbon fiber. Any chance anyone on Azine could produce them for the 04-06 cars? I'd buy them if they were available. I did a Google search for them, but it seems no one makes them for our cars.

I have thought about it a few times. I'd want to put a feeler thread out there and get a small list together before I do.
The problem is, it would essentially require an old bezel and a new one for each customer. So it may have to be one of those trade in type things like JnC and Ask do for the lights.
