Slaughtered a New R32

So once again, just cruising in the vette with the top down when I see this blue R32 (new body with twin exit center exhaust) weave around traffic to get next to me and then rev it next to me (BTW, the exhaust on those things sound real nice). Anyway, guess its all bark and no bite. There is light on this highway where we both get caught at next to one another and each of us had 1 car in front of us. I told him to slowly roll and let the 2 cars ahead pull away. So we roll at 25 mph I give him 3 honks and we were off. I was afraid I was going to spin the whole 1st gear, so I just feathered it and hooked nicely. I pulled several cars on him by the 2-3 shift (70 mph) and let off. I was surprised how easily I pulled away. The new WRX Sti I ran gave me a lot more competition. Anyway, I slow down and he asks me if Im stock, and I told him yea (power wise). I didnt ask him if he was modded or not. He asked to go again, this time we were doing 45 mph. 3 honks, and again, I pulled on him like a freight train. I really thought these cars were faster. A TL or TL-S 6-speed may give these things a good run. They are not "that" quick at all.

Yeh those things are a pretty big joke performance wise. They don't have enough power for their AWD and they get damn expensive with options for what it is...They do look nice though and it and the GTI are pretty big in the tuning world.

haha....trust me I do not murder everyone who decides to rev at me....id be visiting the gas pump way too often and its just not worth it sometimes. However, if the road is open and there is something interesting, I like to open the vette up once in a while. Most of the time I'm just cruising at the speed limit enjoying the fresh nj/nyc air....haha. I really did think the new body style ones were faster though...

I pulled on the last gen R32 on the freeway in my nearly stock 03 TL-S, they really arent that fast at all. They are extremely heavy for their size.

You'd be fun to play with.. stock for stock a hardtop would take me but I think that you being a convertable it would be close as verts tend to run slower then hardtops.. the last vette I ran was a buddys C5 Z06.. we both turned right at a light and both got on it but he already got the jump.. we then slowed down to 45 I dropped into 2nd and he just nailed it and got about 1/2 a car to a car jump on me and held it up until I ran out of 3rd and shut it down...

The convertible C6 only weighs 26lbs more than the hardtop. The GM engineers actually designed the C6 as a convertible FIRST and then designed the coupe. The convertible is just as capable as the hardtop and is no slower (esp with mine being a Z51 6-speed Vert). Where are you located? I'd LOVE to get a friendly run on video between me/you for AZ.

What year Z51 do you have? Was it the 08 that got bumped up to 430+ hp? I would LOVE to run'em however I'm in North Texas and don't ever plan on driving the car to your neck of the woods.. ioh well it would have been fun.. I would have also cheated and dropped some cash to get a nice 150shot before we ran but I would have been honest about the nawz before hand... lol

I would love to see that. I bet you would "murder" and "kill" him.

I bet he runs out of "talent" way before he runs out of road.

You will take him. A roll race would be even more in your favor. Good luck and let us know how it goes. They are not faster than a 2g TL-S, let alone a modded one like yours.
