Size Matters.
hey guys,
I'm new to this site, think its pretty good. I got a few questions, i'm in the market for a new set of wheels, looking really hard at the TL, one problem though, I'm a big dude, at 6'6 and a pretty lean 280lbs. As funny as that sounds, the reality of it is that the TL, although is on top of my list, could use a touch more head room. Has anyone larger then 6'6 purchesed one? and how do you squeeze under the headliner, without having to kink your neck? was there some seat mods you did to get a better fit? The only thing thats holding me back from getting this car is the fact that i called honda and they told me there may be a model without a sunroof for the upcomming model year. f you could help that would be great.

Why would they take out the sunroof? One reason I love the TL is that there isnt a million options to go through, I doubt they will remove the sunroof. Being tall is usually great, cept for that. Why not get it with the sunroof, get some nice oaklies, and poke your head out?

But living in canada i got to deal with old man winter the majority of the year, so i'm looking for solutions more then jokes

i'm only 6 ft, so i haven't really paid any attention to headroom. but wouldn't reclining your seat back do the trick? and since the steering wheel telescopes, you wouldn't have any trouble reaching it - at 6' 6", i'm sure your arms would be long enough anyway.

Hi Tiny, Did you try to adjust the seat all the way down? I am also 6'6'' but "only" 250 pounds (my "fighting" weight is around 220/225) and I fit just fine. I guess not only height comes into play but also proportions...
I also fit well in the Altima but could not drive the G35 sedan until this year's model that has a telescoping steering wheel. Indeed most cars without a moon roof are better for tall people since it cuts into the headroom. But I feel comfortable in the TL (I didn't measure but I figure I have at least 2.5 to 3 inches clearance above my head. What I probably could not do would be to drive a TL with a stick as my knee would probably hit the steering wheel (not a problem with my Altima nor with my previous 1999 Maxima).

I am 6'7" but pretty thin at 195lbs. I can actually raise the seat up and still have plenty of head room. Getting in and out of any car I have to bend my neck. Tl is one of the roomiest cars I have been in. Plenty of room for me.

Tiny - 6'6" here .. I love the TL and it has sufficient head room, but I do have considerably more incline than in my old SUV .. you get used to it,
One thing to consider though ... anybody bigger than my 5 year old in the seat behind me really pays the price ...
