Single jacking point

I read somewhere on this forum that the the TL's front end can be raised up from a single jacking point and the same is true of the back end. Can someone please tell me or show where these jacking points are? I want to make sure I do this right. Going to be replacing the front brake pads soon so this will come in handy.

Thanks,

Al

In the front, it's a flat section in the center of a cross member, maybe two feet behind the bumper (I'm at work now). I don't recall whether or not this info is in the owner's manual but it is in the Service Manual. The rear center jack point is the hook.

i just used the jacking points yesterday. For the one in front, if you get down and look, there is a BIG cutout arrow showing you where it is. It is about 12-18 inches behind where the liscense plate is.

The back one is the big towing hook. You really cant miss that one. Make sure if you are using the back one you have a good floor jack. Takes alot to get the back end up.

I would still recommend using jack stands just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the help everyone. And don't worry, I always use jackstands when working under any vehicle.

If I wanted to get the entire car up in the air so I can install like an exhaust or something, would it be better to jack up the front, throw it on stands, then jack up the rear, and throw that on stands? How about rolling the front or back on ramps, then the opposite end on jack stands? I feel like neither of these options are safe at all...

On the other hand, is just putting one end stands (say the rear) enough to get under it to swap out a cat-back?

^ I just drove my car up on some wood beams that were about 6 inches high.

Gave me plenty of clearance to get under there and install it.

Or you could be smart and get access to a lift
