siemens S56 bluetooth phone

Trying to decide which bluetooth phone to get and was wanting comments on how the siemens S56 performs. Does it display all the features including: call id, battery and signal strength? Haven't heard if call waiting feature is displayed or not? Heard conflicting comments about the phone, but I like it's overall shape better than the SE616. Any info is appreciated.

I've got one...

It has all the features you mentioned. Battery life is good with Bluetooth enabled (several days on a charge). It's a small, nice looking phone. It has worked flawlessly with the HFL in my TL, no echo like others have complained about with the various Sony/Ericsson offerings.

If you're looking for Bluetooth and could care less about cameras, I recommend it. It's currently $130 with a $150 rebate (net they pay you $20) with an AT&TW plan at Amazon.

Two S56 phones working

I have two S56 phones paired with the TL. Both work great. I have my phone synced with my Outlook and have all of my calendar and contacts on the phone. Did it via the infrared connection. You can only have either the infrared or bluetooth on at a time, not both. Bluetooth was easy and works great. Also the silent mode vibrate is very strong for when in a noisy enviroment. Phone is small enough that I never take it out of my pocket when I drive.

I have picked up a call on call waiting in TL but have not gone back to the orginal call yet. Not sure if that works, but you do get the call waiting beep and you can hit talk button on steering wheel to get the second call. The first caller hung up and I did not try to go back. Try that soon.

Oh yeah, I bought the wife's phone on e-bay brand new with car charger and earpiece (for the Pilot) for less than $90. Try e-bay if carrier wants more than $100 for it. Just took phone to Cingular and they transferred from old phone to new phone from e-bay.

Overall give the phone an "A".

thanks for the comments... Best Buy with Cingular service has the phone for free after rebates with 2 yr contract and think around 79.99 with one year. Guess I'll have to check it out, have a 14 day trial period anyways, just don't get back activation fee.
