side marker replacement

Hi everyone. My car is in the bodyshop right now because it got keyd. So since they were going to have every thing off to repaint, i purchased the type-s rear side markers to replace the stock red ones. Problem is the shop called me and said they have different conectors on the back. Any one else have this problem? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Oh, they said they could probably make it work, but they would have to modify the connector. Any one else have to do this? THANKS.

The Type S connector has Three Prongs, whereas 04-06 only has 2. What you do is take the connector from the Car and use the Two Prongs on the Type S Connector (You want the two prongs that are closest to the front of the vehicle)

Hope that helps

They will work...dont worry. They just need to apply a little bit of force to force them together and they will operate just fine. I recall not one had three pins and the other had two....but more like the shape was off by just a minor amt...but enough that you had to force them together. One was taller or something as I recall....but would still fit and work when all is said and done.

Yeah, Like Michael Said, I just used some force to get it on. No issues so far

^^ yeah - what they said.

Not different wiring, but the plug is a little thicker so you have to push a little harder
