hi ! im new here and have 05 TL diamond pearl white with black leather! just wanted to say that this is a great forum with lots of usefull info. just wondering .. does those side marker signal lights work on our cars when we signal ? or are do they just light up when u turn ur lights on? may sound stupid but i just find it odd that they dont flash when i signal.

 

Hello and welcome aboard. Sorry but the front side marker fender light only lights when you turn your lights on. Now there have been some on this board that have connected these lights to the turn signals.

Now, they would be the best ones to comment on this, but I'm not sure how bright the LED's would be during the day and their blinking. I would think the LED's would need to be brighter. Case in point, the tail lights. Not too bright during the day until the brake lights are used then the LED's are quit noticeable.

 

Ive done the mod, it looks great, the light is as noticeable during the day as it would look when you turn on your parking or headlights, it can be seen fairly easily

 

I don't know why they don't blink to begin with! I can see why they're there as the crease would look odd if it were not capped off. But a little TL badge to replace the light so the mirrors can have the repeater turnsignals would be nice. Having the mirror signals and fender lights seems like over kill.

I guess you can always rewire the lights to work when you signal, but I personally have not done this. However if you turn on your emergency blinkers, you would notice that the side markers light up as well.

 

how did you do it? are there instructions posted somewhere?

 

Yeah I would like to know how you did this..and what bulbs you used and everything....I would like to do the same!
