should I pull the trigger today?

Hello everyone. I've been lurking around here for 2-3 years now, finally about to buy a new TL.

Just got an offer from a local dealer of 32606 before TTL, 33984 OTD for 07 TL w/nav. That includes a trunk tray and all season mats which I think I can probably get thrown in, so subtract $200 or so.

Should I put the deposit down and lock in the price, or are people getting better deals recently? This is in the NoVA area.

Thanks!

I bought my '07 TLS 6MT a month ago. I negoatiated the price and then I go them to agree on throwing in tinting, trunk tray, wheel locks and mud guards at no extra price. I bought for invoice and also included was VIN etching on all windows, trunk, etc.

With the 08 models arriving shortly, the deals on 07 will only get better .... but if you know the choice of your color or options are running low, better pull the trigger than regretting over acting too slow later on ...

just my $.02

Yes, that sounds like a very reasonable deal especially if no trade or other bs is involved. Don't buy any options from the dealer, have that deal written as-is. Check the edmunds forum on prices paid to be sure.

Anything else you want is available online for less. You will always be able to find someone that paid $1.00 less as we approach the end of the model year. You may be able to squeeze a few more dollars out at the very end of the month. Good luck, keep us posted.

thanks for all the input guys.

the dealer is offering 2.9% for 36 months which puts the payments higher than i'd prefer, or 4.9% for 48/60 months, but no $1500 cash back using that option, which puts the OTD price up around $34,900.

I may just wait until August and see what they'll be doing on the new 2007's they have left in stock. I'd like to get OTD for around $33.5k and a rate 4% or below. If I can't do that, i'm going to have a harder time justifying the TL vs. the other options.

Any thoughts?

Just curious - what do you consider to be your "other options"? I was considering V6 Mazda 6's with sport pkg. and V6 Accord EX's before I ran across my (used) TL. You might be looking a little further up the food chain, rather than down, though. Just wondering what else you are considering, and whether end of model year and possible new models coming soon i.e. 1 1/2 years on the new TL are affecting your decision.

i've looked at the accord v6, the new camry v6 (although buying a first-model year makes me nervous), and several other totally unrelated new vehicles as well as a few used.

what keeps me coming back to the TL is frankly the interior styling. the new camry has this hideous blue panel on the dash that drives me nuts, BMW's look outdated to say the least, and most other cars aren't even close in general as far as interior aesthetics.

i've driven a couple of new infinitis and didn't care for the seats or the space, lexus is just overpriced, and in the case of the IS, too small. I've always been a "honda guy" and i'd prefer to stay that way, but with the model change on the TL coming up fairly soon and the (unchanged?) 08's hitting the lots already, i'm going to have to feel pretty great about the deal to pull the trigger on the 07. my hope is that acura will have some sort of better special financing or increased dealer cash back for August to help them liquidate remaining 07's.

I'd say if you're not picky about what color you want, that's probably a good way to go. The closer it gets to '08 model year release, the better deal you should be able to get, cuz those babies will be much tougher to move once some later model year cars are sitting next to them on the lot.
