DOES ANY ONE GET IT? Now with the new AUX hook up, people can still listen to their tapes with a tape playing device( ie walkman). Just hook up a walkman like you would an Ipod using the AUX connection. Then everyone will be happy. No tape player on the TL for those who say toss it and for those who lover their tapes can still play them using the AUX!

This thread is making me think about firing up my tape deck at home. I have a Denon that I bought in 1992. Interesting unit in that the cassette goes in a drawer and lies horizontally, much like a CD or a DAT. Haven't used it to record anything in a few years, but I've played a few things from time to time.

You know, at least I use the tape deck once in a blue moon...I still haven't hooked up my phone to the car (makes Bluetooth pointless) and I rarely use half of the luxury items (makes them pointless, as well). MP3 integration is pointless to me as I have no MP3's. It's all perspective.

My mom at 70 is driving a 2002 Civic (her second Civic, I can't talk her into a Accord), another friends Mom also in her 70's also has current gen Civic (her second Civic also). When GM discovered that women bought 55% of the Camaro's in the mid-90's even the marketing folks there were surprised.
But at the same time I'm also surprised how many folks in this forum of all ages use the cassette player, so the audio requirements folks at Acura have gotten that right.

I never used the tape player in my 03TL-S.
all of my tapes have been packed away since 2001, like my old comic books & cards.
It bet they would sound great in this car, but then i'd have tapes all over the interior

For the 07 TL's, they probably could have dumped it. But for the 04-06 TL's, given there's no AUX jack, it's good to have so ppl like me can play my Ipod through the car wo/ paying $500.00
