Shift boot w/ aftermarket knob?

So I threw on the CR knob out of my S2k and its awesome in the TL, but much like my old RSX it has that stupid round clip on the boot that clipped to the factory knob. Anyone have any idea how to mod this so that the boot will stay up on its own and not droop down since its not clipped anymore?!

You have to take the center console apart so that you can reach the shifter stalk. I put zip-ties around the stalk right where the shift boot should sit, for the proper height. The shift boot will then stay up on it's own, with no gap between it and the shift knob.

haha thats okay I have to take my console out anyway because the Pass seat heater light died, the driver side seat heater LOW orange light died, and I was going to put some solid bushings on my shifter box like I did on my RSX and was considering installing a comptech short shifter.

You'll only have to take the center console TOTALLY apart for the short shifter. The heater light bulb you can replace by just taking apart the console from the cupholders back. But, short shifter + shifter bushings are a great upgrade.

Do you by chance know if the RSX aluminum shifter box bushings fit? The stock bushings in the TL look exactly like the RSX ones did but I wasn't too sure. I was going to use some aluminum washers instead since its the same concept once tightened down.
