I live in Mississauga area. Yeah, from what I heard North Toronto has a good sales team, not too sure about there service. I know the guys really well at Sherway Acura so thats where I get my car serviced at.

I'm thinking everything seems fine now. This morning I put in Shell High Octane about 35 liters, my trip computer to empty shows 383, the highest I've ever seen it and this is only 3/4 tank gas, my the Nav computer only shows 270 though, so I'll keep count and see what I end up getting

Does premium gas differ. I normally fill up at Hess (close to my house with 93) or I go to Sams Club when I'm near that as this is always 5 to 10 cents better than anywhere else and use their 93. Can someone explain why one stations 93 is better than another? Thanks

It gives you better performance, better mpg, and saves your engine in the long run, and doesn't make your engine ping.

The easiest way to determine your average mpg over a period of time is to reset your trip computer and leave it alone for a few thousand miles. Even
though most anyone will get decent gas mpg on the highway, your driving
habits ultimately determine the final number. As an example, living in
Chicago, mainly city driving with an occasional highway trip my average speed
over the last 10,000 miles is 16 mph and my gas mileage is 16 mpg. It is what it is.

I haven't seen it in my car, either. I was about to ask if there was something wrong with my car, but glad to see my car averaging 18-20Mpg isn't as bad as others.

I have no idea how most of you have low gas mileage.

I live in a crowded Houston traffic and go to downtown from time-to-time, and always get at least 24 MPG, never went lower. Even when I would drive 110 on highway (sometimes at night when going back to college) I get 27-28 MPG. Odd why my MPG varies greatly with others.

I get 19 mpg on just about all city driving. My MDX gets about 15.8 with the same conditions.

I found that when I'm not paying attention and driving at a steady 45mph (common speed limit for roads in Ft Laud), the car sits at like 2200rpm in 4th gear. I switch to SS and bump it up to 5th so the rpms can come back down to about 1500. This saves a lot of gas.

Edit: This is the same case for my MDX.

It's there. Cycle to your trip computer on your MID via the up/down arrows. Once you display your mpg, avg mph, etc hit the middle button. Should be miles left to empty.

Just did 380 miles with mostly highway miles some stop and go, not flat highway either (I-81 in VA), going 75-80 and got 30.6mpg (my calculation but 30 mpg on the dash). Only took 12.4 gallons to fill up so I could have goine an easy 90 - 100 miles or about 480-500 on a full tank. I'm happy with this for a Type S. And this is using 93 at Sams Club that was easily 30 cents/gallon cheaper than Shell.

My gas mileage went down to 18mpg mixed city and highway driving while using Costco gas. I went back to Shell and it went up to my usual 19-24 mixed driving. I only use Premium as specified.

I was going off memory and forgot another step. Cycle to your trip computer with the arrows. Hit select. It shows all your averages. Then you need to hit the down arrow. Should be miles to empty.

To OP, when my 2006 TL was at 20,000 - 48,000 miles I was getting an average of 150 miles per 1/2 tank of gas. I would drive from Los Angeles to San Diego at an average speed of 75-80 mph. Changed engine oil very 3000 miles, HONDA 5-20, changed tranny oil every other oil change (3 quart empty/refill), changed cabin filter, used injection cleaner every 15,000 miles and topped of needed fluids.
The only thing I never replaced was the engine air filter. I replaced it at48,200 miles it was filthy and it felt like it weight 2 pounds. Guess what, to my amazement I got 215 miles to the 1/2 tank. I always fill with Shell 91. I dove to San Diego with the same results for the past week. Air pressure cold 38 fr and 36 Rr. Check your air filter for yourself, maybe there lies your problem.

Starchyld, i think mine is almost as bad as yours, 3 days ago it was showing 13L/100km, for the past 3 days its shown 15L/100km, but i know its because of winter, it will get better in the summer, its because of these disaster winters we have here (Montreal)

Wow, you guys are terrible with your mileage. My TL generally gets 330-360 a tank with a mix of highway(60%) and city(40%) driving. I have honestly never seen less than 23 miles/gal on a tank. I even got 32miles/gallon, highway on a trip home to Texas. Mine is stock '06.

My stock '06 6 speed got this to. The Type S gives up 2-3 mpg in highway and combined commuting IMO. That 3.2 is efficient!!!!

Mine is an automatic. I am generally between 25-27, with my hwy/city mix. I use Premium gas. We live at 6,000-7,100 ft, would that be a reason for the better mileage?

EPA website for the 2008 TL

Also see this post. The reason I outlined pertain to different tires, but some also apply to differences in mileage when tires aren't a variable.
