Service Loaner in other Dealership Question?
Quick question, Are Service Loaners a standard with acura or is a per-dealership basis?
I got a car in Penn and moved to South Florida, will the new dealer I use for servicing give me a service loaners or can they be dicks and say I didn't buy the car there and have me without a service loaner for long time-frame services ?

it usually depends on the dealership... but from my experience, and i have dealt with dealers in Texas and NJ... you don't need to purchase the car there to be eligible for a loaner... if you are getting major service done, and have a reasonable appt scheduled, they can't deny you a loaner... for example you can't call and schedule an appt for tomorrow morning and expect them to have a loaner for you...
the only thing you may run into is being underage. some loaners won't give cars out to anyone under 25 yr old due to insurance reasons... i have never personally had that happen but some have...

Some dealerships are 21+ but most seem to be 25+
Some places I've gotten a TSX, TL or an MDX and once upon a time, a 1st gen RL (this was five years ago or so)

Thanks for the info guys and quick response!
Called my local dealer, they had no problem with my loaner request and were aware I didn't buy the car there.... I figured they would, wouldn't you want the business of the next purchase at your dealership? not like they loose money on servicing you... lol

Loaners are on a dealership to dealership basis. On what they give them out for depends on the dealership. Mine for example will only give them out if you are forced to wait on a part for a warranty part, and on rare occasions we have give them out for anyone doing a major service. Loaner vehicles used to be supported by the factory, but now with things being as tough as they are, the factory has stopped with the backing of loaner vehicles, and it falls on to the dealership to supply there own. We only have a couple, and if more are needed we will pay for a rental car from Hertz for the customer.

When I lived in San Antonio, I had to call in advance for a loaner. The loaner was typically given for services an hour or more. They only gave TSXs. The Dealer in Missouri readily had loaners and I got an MDX. I am now back in the DC area so I don't know. But it's dealer dependent about the policy.

'06 TL 5AT NAV Anthracite
At Chevy Chase Acura (I bought my car there) it was never a problem, but I always have an appt. At Rosenthal Acura, they told me that no one else could drive the car and they allowed just 50 miles per day.

Our Acura dealer in Wichita is a Lexus, Mercedes, Acura, Jaguar dealership. I had a choice of loaners, '09 TL or '08 Lexus GS350. By the time we got done BSing, the Lexus portion of the dealer had given the TL to one of their customers, so I was "stuck" with the GS350. Nice car, but the huge bulge in trans tunnel really Fs up the way you sit while cruise is on (you know how you pull your gas pedal foot back once cruise it set). I found it very obnoxious and I only drove the car for about about 40 minutes seat time.

remember that loaner cars are considered rental cars for insurance laws
Check your state and confirm with the dealer `office girls`(they know for sure) what the minimum age is
We just had a member here get a call to return the car 30 minutes after leaving dealership when the paperwork was looked at and not 25 as required...
then he kept the car for a long weekend,,,you have to read the thread-too funny
