Self Diagnosis Code?

Hey All,
I am having trouble getting my car out of Self Diagnosis Mode.
I hold the Map Menu and Cancel button to get out of it but I hate having to do it everytime I start the car.

I have gotten to this point where I can enter a code but I do not know the code. It is not my Navi code and it is 4 digits.

Does anyone know where I can find the code?

I posted a picture.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think I have seen this screen and have been in the diagnostics menu a fair amount. How do you (steps) get to this screen?

I held down the map/guide + menu + cancel at the same time for about 5-10 seconds and that came up.

I know my HFL is broken and I unplugged it because it drained my battery.

I can hold the same buttons to get me to a screen that has a list of options to select and once I get there I have a return button on top that I press and that gets me to my navigation screen.

NBP where are you out of? SE Mass?

Thanks

Hmmm - I've never seen the screen in your picture. I have something similar but nothing that has or asks for a code like yours. Could be I haven't gone deep enough into one of the menus, but not sure as I have done a fair amount of exploring.
I used to live in SE Mass - Attleboro/Norton area for about 20ish years, but lived in other areas of MA as well. Relocated to central VA (Charlottesville) in 2019. I am back in MA for family, friends and work a few times a year and was in Tewksbury this week for work.
I posted the mechanic I used to use in MA in the regional forum here. His name is Nick and he will likely be able to help you out. Tell him Rob sent you.

Yea I am down in Plymouth Mass and work on the cape so its not easy for me to get to the nearest Acura dealers in Peabody and Westwood.

I emailed the service manager and Acura Peabody to see if I can get some info without having to drive the 3 hour round trip.

Thanks

Your local Honda dealer may be able to help you out as well. Weymouth/Plymouth/Brocton/Hyannis, etc....... Many of the systems and parts are the same/shared between the two lines.

Does anyone think just unplugging the battery for 15 minutes and resetting the ecu would help this?

Thanks

Just curious, have you tried plugging in the broken HFL, just so it's connected, and then repeat the process of trying to exit out of Self-diagnostic Function?

Maybe this circuit needs to be 'plugged-in' so the computer can complete all attempted line communications when the process is performed? Perhaps that explains why it appears 'Red' on your screen shot above?

If this enables you to get out of Self-diagnostic Function, then just unplug the broken HFL to avoid future battery drainage again.

In addition, maybe check the #7(7.5A) fuse & #21(7.5A) fuse in the indicated locations below to be safe.

I would have PDF'ed the entire process for you (Helms; page 22-279); however, this file I screened printed from won't talk to my printer for some damn reason.

If you search this forum you can find a free 07-08 TL PDF Service Manual download, there is a plethora of testing info for Self-diagnostic Function.
Good Luck!

Here's the other piece of the page.

Thanks ZETA that worked.

I tried everything for almost a year and it is finally gone.

I plugged my HFL back in and that lite up green. Than I pressed the speak button and back button on the bottom of the steering wheel and those lite up green. After that I held the speak button and said hello and those grey boxes lite up and after that the EXIT DIAG was selectable and that was it.

Thanks for your help.

Nice!
It was a logical shot in the dark; however, the 'communication line check' must have been what was holding you up because of the HFL disconnection.
