On second thought, I am an idiot.
Ya know, ever since my wheels got jacked in 2008 I've been paranoid, I'm careful wherever I go with my TLS, leery of it being secure & even installed 2 wheel locks on each one. I park it at night close to my house & always turn on the exterior light.
Yesterday though it hit me, I asked myself WHY & realized I pay alot for insurance coverage here in NJ! Is my insurance company giving me a BIG discount on my premium because I have wheel locks? NO. How about a discount because I'm careful where I park it? NO, Because I leave the driveway light on at night? NO. They give me NOTHING but a BIG bill every month. So, as far as I"m concerned I honestly don't care if the wheels get stolen, afterall 3 of them are gouged anyway from curbs. If they do get stolen I'll get NEW wheels & tires. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, I'm sure my insurance company isn't either.

Burning Brakes
you are right. but think about the time you will lose when you have to go through the hassle of getting new rims and tires. if you dont care about that then thats another story

You're not an idiot; you're a normal human being.
Traumatic events create a certain amount of lingering paranoia. Our home was burglarized about 10 years ago; it took a while to feel comfortable leaving the house for fear someone would come in while we were away again. Eventually, we realize we've done all we can to protect ourselves and leave the rest to chance.

I personally would be pissed if my wheels got stolen. Those people dont give a shit about your car. They will drop it on the ground, they will scratch it, they will rip off your side panels...they dont care. I personally dont live in the NE which seems to be steal your wheels central, but I can see why insurance premiums would be more there. I think every single thread I have seen on this site that was about wheels being stolen was in NJ or NY. BTW, what is it with a lot of people on this site and curb rashing their rims? Curb rash is a pet peeve of mine but it seems some people literally drag their cars along curbs. Is this like a city thing or something?

^^ lol I agree....how can you scratch your rims when you have a fancy side view mirror that tilts down too! I make sure to keep a good distance from the curb and then back up to get a little closer with the side view mirror depending on how narrow the street is.
