Scuff marks, Help!
Scuff marks, Help!
I scuffed my rear bumper backing outta a spot hitting a wall that wasn't in my side mirrors--such a dumbass move, no loss of paint or any damage-- but has slight scuff markings and feels grainy. Is there anything anyone recommends to blend it in....
Bonehead move of the day
Thanks

If it's a black scuff-mark and is really superficial, I've gotten
those off with WD-40. In fact, I had some black gunk on
the kick-panel and Bug & Tar remover would not get it off.
WD40 does the trick all the time for me, but I used it very
limited.
I would use it very judiciously and be interested to here
other recommendations. If it's the back bumper, it's
plastic, so depending on what you hit and how hard,
it may not be just a scuff mark.
Let us know what works.

thanks for the response..
It is on the back bumper and the scuff marks are small but somewhat greyish in color not black...it just very disappointing that its somewhat noticeable so any further recommendations will be appreciated...

WD-40?? I never try that.
Besides this, any good way to really "clean" those scuff mark or scratch out of dark color paint?
Yep, that's right, WD-40 - used very sparingly on clean rag.
I used it the other day to take of a stubborn small black scuff on
the kick panel and worked like a charm. You may have to
rub a bit, but it'll take it off where Bug and Tar won't.
I think WD-40 is basically a solvent with silicon added.
Of course it takes off any wax at that spot too.
And if you have a real scratch, it might take off the black
mark, but won't fix the scratch in any way.
Try it and let us know!
