Scratches even with MOLESKIN!!

I had my tints done back in november with moleskin installed at the time. Up until the past couple of weeks, since the weather was cold, i never rolled my windows down. Now that i do roll down my windows, i see scratches on my tints. There is at least one full length scratch on each window.

Does anyone else with moleskin experience this? This is driving me nuts. I was lead to believe that once you install the moleskin this problem of scratced tint will go away!! I just hope that when i bring my car back to the shop they will redo the moleskin and tint.

My friend told me that i should just cut off the rubber wipers inside the door to avoid the scratching. Has anyone tried this method? Are there any drawbacks to doing this method?

Yes. After installing the moleskin, some ppl have the same results as you do.

To cut one of the ruber wiper would do the work, but you "might" get wet windows in rainy days. We have talked about the two possible methods to prevent "scratch" happening, one is "moleskin", another is "cut wiper", however, "moleskin" is the major voice here.

I guess so... it's not the serious threat though. Some ppl also worry that losing/cutting one wiper would make less "gastight"...??

Do you see two trouble rubber-wipers on the right?

Some ppl cut it off, others felt on it.

After cutting one of rubber, there are two ways to put that "trim" back. You could put it back as normal or you could put it back as upside-down.

if i was to cut the rubber wipers... would i cut just one or cut both of them off?

The threat of them not being as "gastight" was a concern i had when i was thinking about cutting the wipers off in the first place. That's why i went with the moleskin instead.

Not sure which one is the right one to cut-off? You should only cut one instead of both of them.
