So sorry for you man, just bought mine and if something like this would hapen I would go nuts...

Deep! lol

You can say that you were lucky in ur bad luck, cause your rear wing isn't to much touched.
Deep or not I would for sure change de rear bumper first and then look at the possibility for the wing. Looks like there's a little scratch on the bottom and there's a missing paint spot.

After changin the bumper I would go get a quote for the rest. ( if I was you )

Good luck buddy!

i put too much faith in the back up cam. i thought i didn't have enough room to clear the fence but i looked in the cam and was clear. i was clear of the FENCE not the STUD/SCREW that pokes out the side.

My guess is about $800-900. It cost my friend over $700 just to replace the bumper. It looks like you also have a small dent to deal with. The reason I know is because he replaced the bumper twice (once because he backed into a wall and second time because he got hit at a red light).

Good luck

Go to the dealer, NEVER GO FOR HOOK-UPS for the Car you Love. Trust me.... because you pay 100 or 200 less some where and the job didnt come out good, you will feel like what ever you spent just got into the garbage because ur still not satisfied, just go to the dealer so u can atleast have a good night sleep.

dude, i got something similar to that, very similar on the rear bumper right in the middle of it from my girlfriends house... i didnt even know how many layers of paint were on our cars... theres an obvious indent on it but the bumper wasnt pushed in or dented itself.. many layers of paint were just scraped off... what i did was just put the honda bandaid sticker over it lol it covers most of it and looks pretty cool actually.. it says "stupid hurts, honda" and looks like a bandaid.

That's $800+ easy! The bumper is going to be about $4-500 on it's own, and the rear panel is going to be about the same. It's bent and paint is scratched in two places so it will def be fixed and painted. This would be an insurance job for me, without hesitation as my collision ded is $500. No doubt it's more than that "sympathetic" estimate I just gave you. Anything more than double my ded is reportable to me!

No police report...no carfax report!

Also, I know you can get a "hook-up", but how much of a quality job will it be? People don't tend to go all out when it's a hook-up, as they are not getting top dollar. Plus, you don't want problems like rusting and paint mismatch (you have the white remember). That stuff is worse than a carfax blemish, which, as I said before, you don't have to worry about anyway. Even all two car accidents are not reported on carfax. Definitely not situations like yours. Plus, your insurance shouldn't go up over this. Especially if you haven't had any other accidents recently. So do a top notch job for your baby! Show her some love - save the hook-up for the hoopties!

I feel your pain. I was involved in a minor accident, and my rear bumper scratches were down to the plastic. It wasn't my fault because I was sitting in my car parked. The estimate for mine came out to about $500, and insurance (not mine) paid $480. The local paint shop guy did it for $480. My damage was only the bumper though, and not the body panel.

I ended up having the bumper repaired because I wanted ONLY the bumper painted. I thought that if I get a new bumper, they would have to blend it to the panels. In the end, I'm happy with the work, and I can't even tell that it was repaired. I'll have to update my thread and post some after pictures.

I flipped out when it happened because my car was only a month old when it happened. I even played with the idea of getting the A-spec bumpers. A good body shop should be able to take care of that. My guess is your repair should be around $500 like mine, and not too much more.

I'm not sure about the dealer because most dealers use a 3rd party body shop (At least from my understanding). I would however, try to see if the dealer would take care of it due to the mismatch color of the bumper vs. the rest of the car. It wouldn't hur to ask.

Good luck man.

I would be pretty pissed too, i see it just hit the quarter panel, which i am sorry to say will make the expenses of fixing much more! Sorry to hear about your car, hope you can find a good bodyshop to fix it at a reasonable price.

Sucks you got the 2nd panel too. If it was just the bumper it wouldn't have been a huge deal.

she's in the shop, that rear quarter is what really cost me. it actually rusted in the short time it was there for. anyway, she will be back and up to par tomorrow. i went with my body guy cuz he said it'll look like the day i brought her home for a quarter of the price. i got an a-spec kit but thats next week..........

Sorry about your car...I know the feeling. My '04TL only had 11,800 miles....not one scratch or dent. Two weeks ago, while shopping at a farmers market....I even parked in the grass next to the parking lot....some old lady in a Buick backed into my door. Thankfully it was only one door...the drivers door, but it's gonna be $1000 to fix because they have to blend the paint into the fender and rear door to get a decent match. It will never look the same...metallic paint never matches perfectly. Oh well....a car is a car...and won't look new forever. I feel your pain.

If you filed this with your insurance, it'd go under as comprehensive. Comprehensive claims do not affect your insurance premiums, but collision (with another car) claims do. However, if you frequently file comprehensive claims, it will impact your car insurance premiums. The thing is every insurance company has their own set of limits. Some will allow you to file only one comprehensive claim before they increase your rates. Others will allow you four or more before they increase your rates.

So, I would say you are okay with taking this out of your insurance.

I know you already took your car in, good luck with the repairs. How much was the estimate? I would venture to guess that is about a $1000 hit once you buy a bumper cover ($350ish), and have it painted and the dent repaired. Paint materials are very expensive. Labor is probably $50-$60 an hour, and it adds up fast. As for your insurance, this will be a collision claim. You ran into something, so it is on you. If you hit a deer or some other act of god happens it is comp. Otherwise it's on you. So make sure you take into account the amount your insurance could go up before you make a claim. If you have a $500 deductible and an $800-$1000 bill, I might just pay it myself and "save" the claim for later if needed.

the work is done (above quote/pics paid $300) acura took a quick look and said at least $800 and that was a ballpark(couldn't wait for exact est. i had to get back to work) but my guy swore he could make it look new and he did for over 50% of the stealership"ballpark".......
