Scratch Fix?-Redondo Red

Hey gut's-I have a couple of scratches on the clearcoat of my RR TL. Actually, they aren't deep-I can't feel them-but they look like white lines that we're drawn on the car. I managed to put one of them on the car while washing it tonight. I use microfiber and wool wash mit I'm not sure how it happened.
My question is how to get them out. My neighbor was chatting with me when I discovered the scratch tonight and recommended Turtle Wax rubbing compound. He didn't think it was too bad because he couldn't fell any of the scratches either. The problem is they stand out like a sore thumb because they're very light-almost white. Any ideas are much appreciated.
Mike

Zaino, then compound

Hey MSF (a fellow Rochesterian!):

I'd start with Zaino #5 polish, and if it didn't work, go with the mildest rubbing compound (followed by Zaino). I wish my finish problems were so simple; I've got DEEP scratches from the Henrietta Thruway to deal with!

Hey! Small world! Thanks for the response. I DO use Zaino-and love it. The Z5 hasn't helped and I've used it 3-4 times. Luckily, there are only two spots that I'm concerned about. Like I said-they're strange, you can't feel them, the surface is as smooth as the rest of the car. However, you can't miss them-they're easy to see. Sorry about your scratches. I've been pretty lucky so far.

Okay guy's, any other experiences out there?

i had the same kind of scratches on my car recently from rubbing ligthly against a pole(my stupid mistake). i tried to use a couple of different scratch removers but they did not work. i look it to a paint shop and they wet sanded the scratches away. i was actually there to repaint the door but in the process of stripping the paint they discovered that the clear coat was pretty thick and was able to polish it out. the total cost was 100 bucks which was well worth it cause you do not see the slightest evidence of the scratch. i would save the money you will spend on the zaino or whatever product and just take it to a pro and they can get it out 100%. when using rubbing componds it can turn into a nightmare. if you make a mistake you can do more harm than good.
