Scorched Brake Pads

Anyone have experience with the "scorched" pads that come with the A-Spec upgrade for AT TLs? How much better are they as compared to stock??

They are $124.00 from an ebay dealer that separates A-Spec kits. Are they worth it?

I like them - seem to be more responsive when braking. No scientific facts to back this up though.
