Schedule B Price ????

Just made an appointment with Ferman Acura in Tampa, Florida, and was quoted $134 for the Schedule B/15K mile service. Now, this is without an oil change and air filter (my K&N)- I do that myself.

I was told it includes new wipers, cleaning of the throttle body, and tire balance/rotation plus labor.

This sound right to you guys/gals?

Could you list the price you paid at different dealerships??

Thanks...

At least they'll use lubrication so they don't injure you too much as they're raping you.

B service is an oil change and tire rotation. No need to go to dealer for that. Do it yourself or find a reasonable/trustworthy mechanic elsewhere.

The other stuff they are planning on doing is not part of the B service. The price sounds reasonable for what they plan to do (although the oil change should be included as well). But, they are suggesting things you don't really need yet. Sounds like a rip off to me.

Paid $55. I thought it was a mistake so I asked again on the phone and also when I got down to the shop. The actual bill was $54.35 and included bunch of checks, oil change and tire rotation. Even got my book stamped.

Why would they need to clean the throttle body, wipers probably cost $20 either from Acura or parts store, all the rest of the B service is stuff that should be looked at when any oil change is done and shouldn't cost extra.

If you do your own oil change, you don't need to get the B service done at the dealer. Just get the tires rotated, either at the dealer or anywhere else you trust, and check out the other stuff yourself when you do the oil change.

I do my own oil change and tire rotation, and check out everything on the list as best I can. Maybe someday I will let them do a service, but it will be the first time in my life, if I do.

Doesn't the MID display when the "B" service needs to be done? I'm at almost 19K and haven't seen any indicator light yet.

Yes, it has...it varies upon driving conditions, etc.; It is easily turned off, which I have done or had done.

I just passed 20,000 miles when I got the B service. I did get the A service reminder, but didn't see B service and just figured that it was about time. Rember that the service reminder is not really based on miles you drive, but the way you drive (do you see christmas tree on every stop light?).

For the service fee, I remember people posting upwards of $100 so that initially made me think that my service was going to be expensive. I'm not complaining that the cost was relatively inexpensive.

I'm in So Cal. You'd probably use up all the savings in gas if decided to come here for your service.
