Is it safe?

The 'Service A Due Soon' reminder came up on the MID a few days back (Oil Life <15%), so my mom made the apointment for tomorrow. Sudden changes caused to postpone the service until later this week but now the oil life <10%. It leaves me able to drive the car tomorrow to school, Is it safe to drive the car still or should I just leave the car alone until its service apointment?

Thanks!

my unnoficial opinion is oil changes and services are within + or - 1000 miles or so, so as long as school isn't 500 miles away, you should be fine

If you keep driving the car when oil life is at <10, does it actually go down to <5 or will it just say Service over due??

I've done that a couple of times. Yes, it goes from "service due soon, oil life <20%", to "<15%", "<10%", I think it showed "<5%" as well and then ended up showing "service due now", at which point I took it for an oil change. I drove for approximately 1000 miles from "<20%" to the "service due now" message.

Oh dang, so there is a "Service Due Now" reminder. I guess I'm safe for a little while longer. Gas milage is really bad at this percentage though.
