S4 over TL
Was shopping for a TL but recent sightings of S4's have changed my mind. That is a way better looking car!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, the TL looks nice, but up against the S4, it has NOTHING. Looks like I will be buying the S4 because it has a killer front end, back end, and interior to die for. Not to mention, not everyone has one. =)

I like its style if comparing with A4. But is it small as A4?

The S4 is a special edition Audi. It better be better. But for 45k for an S4 and 41k for a TL A-spec, that at least is closer in price (comparison wise).
Silly comparo.

For $51k (navi, XM, premium sound, heated seats)
You get a few seconds faster
S4 5.3 (manual)
TL 6.2 (manual) (magazine)
S4 14/20 mpg :banghead:
TL 20/30 mpg
Give me a break......
And about the interior " to die for " :yack: yeah OK.
S4 is too small
I hope for your sake you’re short.
I'm 6'3" and when I drove the A4 3.2 Quatro, there was no room for a passenger behind me...even my 9 year old daughter couldn't fit.
So you might as well get a Porsche.
The TL carries four comfortably with me at the wheel.
Something to consider...

Question is......why does someone feel the need to come in and rag on the TL when it's clear the other car simply is not in the same category. I doubt there's many Tl owners going in a "Civic" forum to brag how much better a TL is! Anything that costs THAT much more OUGHT to provide better performance.....better styling.....better SOMETHING. Sheesh!

Before I bought the TL I looked at everything, the A4, S4, A6, A6 S-line. All nice cars.
The A-6 S-line was the most impressive to me, 2.7 turbo. with PCM upgrade and exhaust they push 325HP and AWD.
But alas the drink holders sucked and the A4/S4, as nice as they are, ARE to small inside.
Although I wish the A-spec included Recaro seats! like the S4.
Other cars that are too small inside are the Infiniti G35, any BMW 3 series and 5 series, and others like the Accord.
What I think sets the TL apart from the others, at least interior wise, is the high belt line which allows more shoulder room (side to side) for drivers and passengers.
I also felt the Caddy CTS had good interior room, infact that almost got my vote and purchase.
IMHO anyway.

I doubt the clutch is covered under any warranty. No manufacturer can anticipate how the clutch will be used/abused. It's not considered a normal wear and tear item on any car that I've ever heard of before.
When i posted that the A4 puts a WHOOPIN on the TL, I mean't aesthetics. The A4 has WAYYYYY better curb appeal than the TL. I mean just while test driving one, at a red light, I had two chicks lookin at it. =)

Do I really need to go on. Plus there is a girl i know that has an A4 and she envys my car. Man give it up the A4 is outclassed by the TL

Before I got my S4, I had a legend. My friend has a TL. I was very familiar with Acura's. I LOVED my Legend. 92 2 dr coupe, 5 speed. When the chance arose to trade it in for an S4, I did it in a heartbeat. Now I loved both my Legend and my friend's TL, but to me, neither offered what the S4 did. It looked sweet, better than the TL and questionable whether I thought it looked better than the Legend. Much faster with potential for a lot more speed. AWD. Two turbos, although not anymore
stupid v8's. The interior IMHO looks a lot nicer in the S4. The wood didn't look plasticy like it does in my friend's TL. Actually it was a grey maplewood interior that I did not see on ANY other cars until Jag came out with the X-type. As for the size, I didn't care. The back seat was used so seldom that it was a non-issue for me. Had I needed a back seat than it would not have been the right car for me. Everyone has their opinions, and mine is that the S4 is nicer than the TL, even though the TL is a nice car in its own respect. Also, I wanted a manual which at the time was not offered on the TL.

chicks look good driving one. it's like a VW rabbit convertible. chicks will look at it because they think they'll look cute in it. though ask any of those girls what they think if a guy was driving it and you'll get a whole different response *snicker*
i've owned both.
In addition to the $17k price difference, you may want to save for increased gasoline bills, service
Repairs? Valve jobs, window regulators, replacement wheels (scratches or bends, your choice), and a national organization (Audi/VW) that denies anything is their fault.
but as I said, it's your choice. Oh, and nice lack of full-color navi display - Audi doesn't offer that on the A4/A6/S4 yet because of some excuse or another... MMI will fix that.
