I have a WDP equipped with the Ron Jon kit and personally think it looks more stunning than the A-Spec. I never see them on other TL's though, is there a reason?

Honestly I like the body kit bro it’s pretty cool but i rather switch the front bumper back to the A spec just cause in my opinion it has more of an aggressive look.
It looks pretty good but a little too boxy for my taste. I had modify 04-06 front aspec lip to fit the type-s bumper, paired with the aspec sides, and type-s aspec rear. IMO Best combo ever
there's a few reasons you don't see it that often:
- it was twice as expensive as the aspec kit, which people already said was too much money
- don't quote me on this, but i think you had to get it painted also
- some people consider it too boxy/aggressive
i personally don't like the look of it (hell it took me 8 years to warm up to the OEM aspec kit before I pulled the trigger - wish i had bought it right away), but all that matters is you like it!
I've always found the Ron Jon body kit interesting, but I go back and forth on if I actually like it or not. It does look nice at some angles, but sometimes it looks too aftermarket in my opinion. Also there is no housing where fog lights can be easily installed/mounted. The huge grills on a NBP TL look silly with the gray mesh.
I'm reviving an old thread here because I saw my first Ron Jon body kit on the road yesterday here in downtown Grand Rapids... obviously very rare. It was a NBP Acura TL, but I'm not sure if was an 04-06, 07-08, or Type S. I didn't have a chance to pay attention that closely to the headlights, but I thought I might have seen all red tails, which makes me think it's probably an 04-06. It was tastefully dropped, sitting on gold rims (I would guess 18''). It was definitely a head-turner. Maybe I'll get lucky and see it again at some point.
When the Acura TLs first came out, I really wanted a Ron Jon kit badly, but man those kits have not aged well at all. As someone else previously mentioned, they look really aftermarket. Aspec all day.
I tend to agree most days. I also have an A-spec kit and typically like it much better. However, I just found it funny that I about snapped my neck when I saw a Ron Jon kit on the road. I bet 99% of people would hardly bat an eye, but a group like ours tends to notice these nuances. It's still a cool modification to see and I'm glad it has survived this long.
Now if I saw a Gerzy Bear Performance bumper, I might actually park and wait for the owner to come back.

I agree. The 3rd Gen enthusiasts notice it right away. I was at a red light and a really clean, dropped tl drove by and stared it down. That was the first time it happened to me lol

This is kinda what made go A-Spec over RonJon, was the future re-sale value. You can get a little more $$ with OEM. RJ kit still looked amazing for its time tho.
I think it is matter of preference. I used to have A-spec kit on my car years ago. But, I've changed it to RonJon(been more than 6years) since I liked the look more than the A-Spec. IMO RonJon kit looks way better than A-Spec kit in person. It is just pity that the price is way too expensive.
