Road Trip Report
Road Trip Report
Took the TL on a 1000 mile road trip over the last couple of days. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe the experience.
The car is smooth, powerful, and effortlrssly stable at speed. 70 MPH feels like you're barely moving, and 100 MPH is effortlessly reached. Crossing the Laguna Mountains (many, many miles of 6% grades) was a piece of cake - the cruise control held the speed rock-steady without even having to downshift. The XM reception was flawless, and the Bluetooth Hands Free Link worked perfectly and sounded great.
And, to top it all off, the trip computer reported 31 MPG at an average speed of 69 MPH
Bottom line, I've never driven a more all-around enjoyable car on a road trip.

I don't care if CD doesn't get it. This car is great! Sounds like you had a blast on your road trip fuque. I know the feeling. My wife and I went to South Jersey for Thanksgiving. It was the first "long" highway trip with my new TL. It was fun "reeling in" the traffic. I saw a guy in a G35 coupe with a couple of other small cars in tow pass me and I was doing about 85mph. I let him get ahead of me for awhile and then I hit about 100 mph and was following them in and out of traffic. I had good time; the car handled wonderfully.
I've gotta echo those sentiments with regards to highway driving. I took my baby down to Portland a couple of days ago on business and was duly impressed. I found that this car is easy to accustom oneself to very quickly.
I had to laugh at a guy in a 2001 Mercedes S500 who was pulled over on the side of the road with his hood up. I was half-tempted to go back and offer him help.
