Smile Road trip for brake caliper painting

Next Saturday, June 3, I head down to Farmingdale, NY on Long Island to get my rear brake calipers painted to match the Brembo's on the front. This place did all 4 of my calipers in black on my previous car, a 2000 VW Jetta GLX, and did a great job. He only charges 55.00/caliper which is mind boggling if you ask me, when you consider the preparation work, painting, etc. For those who want this done and are within reasonable distance of Long sland, NY....I would highly recommend him. Name of the place is ReconditionUSA.

Actually, while I am waiting for my 18" RonJon's to arrive....I guess this will officially be my first mod....

would he repaint them red on the front or silver and put the brembo stencil on there instead of acura?

My guess is he could probably do that....I'll ask him about that when I go down there and he looks at the car. It would involve another step of stripping the black paint off I would think.

Hey Trance....that's a little far to drive...lol. Since I am not a DIY'er I looked far and wide for someone near Connecticut that does this kind of work. And this guy did a great job on my Jetta. Plus I get to go spend a night down on Long Island so it's good for a little getaway. I definitely wanted to have this done before my new rims arrive....which I hope will be the middle of June.

And now that LegionOfDoom has sung the praises of the A-Spec suspension it looks like I will probably be doing that as well somewhere down the road !

If he can't stencil the Acura Logo on the calipers then look here...

I am confirmed for this Saturday for my first mod !! The RonJon 18" Inspyre's will be here by about the middle of June if there are no delays, then after the rims and tires are on it's off for a major detailing...

And I am blaming all of you for these expenses....lol

Ackkkkkkkk......due to monsoon like conditions in Connecticut and New York this morning, I had to abort my trip to Long Island. Got as far as New Haven before turning back....visibility from the rain alone was hideous. Will try again next Saturday.

One thing this showed me is that the Bridgestone's that came as stock really do SUCK in the rain.....I felt like my life was in danger riding on those pieces of crap. My new rims better get here soon so I can get rid of these damn tires !
