I noticed that Falkens ZIEX 512 have a "rim protection", which is a piece of rubber that extends over the rim. Those of you, who have Falkens, does this help in any way in car washes from scratching the rims?

BTW, I wonder if there is anything one can do to protect the left wheel rim in car washes. I am surprised that nobody came up with a gadget that would help with this issue, something that would slide on the rim ... Yes, over the summer one can hand wash, but during the winter ... I am already uneasy about this.

 

There was a brief thread about this a week ago or so...my concern would be that the extra rubber would just get chewed up by curbs, car washes, and whatever else it comes in contact with.

 

I've bonded with my car wash attendant. He understands my need for accuracy when being waved into the tire funnel, so he's more patient and takes pride in guiding me in safely. Well, pride and $5 a pop.

That said, I cheated on him with another attendant that wasn't so concerned and WHAM there's the scrape I'm currently living with.
