If you really do have a G35, how do you find so much time to post and reply to everyone? I have a 2002 TLS and can barely keep up with the threads on this site alone. lol

No worries. My response was also meant to be humorous. Apparently I failed.

I think you will find I reserve my wrath for those who deserve it.

Actually, I got it but wanted to follow up. If and when I get into a disagreement with someone, I do not want the reason to be my inherent need to be a smarta$$.

Have you raced any stripped Altima V6/5 speeds with it yet?

Word has it that those two cars run neck and neck with one-another...

The inside of the G is nice, but almost identical to it's cheaper Maxima cousin as far as the wheel and center console/controls area. I also found the backseat a tab small for normal sized adults.

Nice ride SilverbulletCLS!

I see you couldn't resist mentioning the TL and your perception of the G35's superiority on your G35 page.

Looks nice, BTW. I am no G35 hater. If the G35x was offered with a 6MT, it may be sitting in my garage right now.

Show me a test of ANY stock G with ANY tranmission that was able to outrun that little Altima (which can be purchased in the Boston area for ~ $21,500).

You won't get a Altima V6 5spd for 21,500. Our 03 Altima SL was 23-24k and it has a 4 cyc.

How many of them trapped at 100 MPH or higher?

The Altima is front drive with an open diff; that costs it in terms of ET (but barely impacts the trap speed, which is far more telling of a car's actual power to weight ratio).

Who cares. I read altimas.net and 100mph was done by a device similar to a GTECH device. It was NOT ACCURATE! The Altimas are running around 95-98 mph not 100.

So get off the kick on the Altima.

The Altima V6/5 speed's straight-line performance is COMPARABLE to that of the G35, despite the fact that both cars are built by Nissan and the Altima can be had for ~ $12K less.

Is it time to start comparing the TL's acceleration to a V6 Accord coupe (six speed)?

What the hell is the point?

The Altima's fastest rating for the 5-speed was a 5.9 run I think in Motor Trend. It is a fast car in manual mode. It's basically a low 6 second car. Autos have gotten from 6.3 to 7.1 in diff. magazines.
But that car has the worst interior in the recent history of the automobile. They did recently up-grade it, it looks better, not sure they used better materials. And it handles like a bigger car (it's bigger than the TL and G 35) and has torque steer OUTTA THIS WORLD. But it is very fast to go to Wal-Mart in.

There's some truth in that statement...

The 6 speed Accord coupe is probably the best of the bunch in terms of luxury and performance per dollar...

Of course, Honda doesn't offer the 6 speed in the sedan....

0 - 60 times are for kids...

Trap speed through the 1/4 mile is the most telling in terms of actual HP to weight ratios.

Speed @ the end of the 1/2 mile is also telling, though less widely published.

SILVER B S,

If you are so confident about your purchase, why do you continually surf this forum for someone saying something bad about the G35????

I can honestly say I have never been on a G35 forum.

Oh and by the way, I would think the Altima would be very close to the G35 in acceleration...

SINCE THEY HAVE THE SAME ENGINE!

Bullet- judging by your gallery you are going to "rice" the G35 out. Have fun.... don't forget to add a wing. Oh, and keep any and all keys/sharp objects away from the "titanium" trim. The plastic scratches easily! Enjoy the interior and the Clarion sound system. Cheers!

Rice the G35 out? Oh give me a break. Oh FYI, My stereo sounds MUCH better than the TL's muddy sounding stereo!

I never stated that the Altima would have "the best trap." All I said is that a Nissan that can be had for ~ $21.5K ($500 over invoice, which is no problem for a Nissan in this area) is essentially as quick/fast as Nissan's far more expensive 350Z and G35 twins.

All cars tested by the same source:

Altima V6/5 speed:

http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2105.shtml

G35 (auto):

http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2133.shtml

350Z manual:

Yawn, wow GTECH times, and if you read altimas.net they said that was even wrong information!

The best trap is not 100 but between 96-98 for the Altima.

Prove that they're "GTECH times."

And if they are then they ALL must be, since the same source tested all three cars.

The Altima V6 is essentially as quick as the 350Z and the G35. :p

IDIOT go read how they test the cars! They have a device its not done at a drag strip. Grow the **** up idiot. If the Altima guys say its the wrong time its WRONG!

Go by what the majority of the magazines get magazine racer. C&D, MT, R&T. The Altima maybe as fast but from 0-60 the G35 will own it and above 80 the G will own it.

And what the hell do you own NOOB? A wannabe metro?! You came on here just to cause problems because you are a newbie and every post you have has been on this topic.

All three cars (manual vs. manual and auto vs auto) offer COMPARABLE straight line performance.

They are close enough such that it would be a driver's race.

The curb weight on a base Altima 3.5 SE is a mere 3,197 pounds...

The G35 sedans are 200 pounds heavier than that...:wow:

Both cars use the same basic 3.5 liter V6....

What "magic" makes the Infiniti so much faster (according to you)?

Yawn, your a waste of internet bandwidth. Go run along and brag about your mommys car to someone else. This TOPIC isn't about the POS ALTIMA.

G35 M6 dyno results:

Altima V6 dyno results:

The Altima is 200 pounds LIGHTER.

The drive wheel HP: weight ratio of those two cars is very close. The Altima actually produced MORE drive wheel torque on the dyno!

amazing the lack of maturity displayed in this thread

why are some of u guys being idiots, u've made your purchase and be happy w/it, stop trying to preach to others how great the respective car you bought is ....this goes 4 both the g35 owners and tl owners in this thread....both groups claim their respective cars 2 be sophisticated, if thats the case, why cant their owners be even 1/2 as sophisticated as their car is
