Review: Sylvania/Osram LEDriving lights

I replaced all of the 194 bulbs in my car and 2825 bulbs in my map lights with these Sylvania LEDs. I must say that I am happy with the color and brightness.

$10 a pop but its worth it! I replaced front and rear map lights, door lights, and the plate lights. Awesome!!!

Looking good! It's exciting to see how quickly LED lights have become available at the retail level- we were ordering off the Web 5 years ago and now you can buy them at a auto parts store. That was my first real upgrade and the lights are still going strong 6 years later.

Yeah I see led technology everywhere now but what made me buy them is the fact that I found them in Sylvania brand. I almost ordered a set of 10 bulbs online from eBay for $15 shipped but I don't mind spending more to have a good bulb. I hope these last as long as yours did!

I kid you not, hands down the most awesome purchase I've made for this car.

I got these at auto zone, drove to 3 different stores to buy all 8 of them.

If anyone needs the part number or the auto zone stock number I'd be glad to get it from my receipt.

seems they do a good job of lighting up the license plate for a single led bulb...

Looks good! Does anybody have comparison with a cold cathode in terms of brightness? I'd like to put my stock housing back if its the same brightness.

I believe these are special order at Auto zone but trust me it is well worth the $10 per bulb.

I replaced mine without removing the trunk liner, the bulb holder slides to the right and pops out of the trunk. You could do it either way but its actually easier to remove the liner and get to it from the back side.

I appreciate you giving it a shot, the photos in my opinion don't quite do the color justice. I'm glad you like it though!

Keep us updated on your interior pics! You need 6 more bulbs!

To be honest I don't even know what a cold cathode is, how do you have that wired or installed?

It's just the perfect amount. I might be going overkill but I'm going to look into what kind of bulb the trunk takes!

Darn I was hoping for no blue hue at all. I just want an LED bulb that matches OEM plate LED's exactly like on a Lexus or BMW.

That's actually what it looks like, there is almost no blue at all. I'm sure if you try it, you will be happy. I'll try uploading a few more pics so you might be able to judge the color better.

it's pretty damn close, i can vouch for that. I saw the car in person 2 nights ago when he was picking up some of the other lights.

I had to take a 2nd look to catch much of any blue at all.

ok sounds good then I would be interested in picking some up. Only thing im still confused about is in your second post you said you got them from autozone, then several posts later you said you think their special order. So which is it, did you have to order them or did you buy them off the shelf? I went to one local autozone and they did not have them on the shelf, but im gonna try a different one here in a little bit since I have to run out anyway,

No need to answer my above question. I stopped by one of the other Autozones near by and they had a few of them. I bought two and no kidding I am VERY impressed with these bulbs. Im not the type of guy that wants crazy blue lights everywhere that are insanely bright, I want the closest possible match to a car that comes with LED lighting from the factory. Well these bulbs do it! The color is exact and is pure white with no hint of blue. The only thing I did just to tone the lights down a tad was place a small round piece of electrical tape at the end of the bulb lens just to bring the brightness down a hair. They are perfect!! So now comes the task of tracking down a bunch more. I guess I will start calling a few more stores.

Thanks for this writeup, these bulbs are perfect and I love how they have the frosted lens instead of most aftermarket LED bulbs that have exposed LED's.

Yeah it's hard to describe but I'm happy with it, now I'm off to find other mods for my car. Today I might clean up my muffler tips on the inside.

Thanks for giving it a shot! I found that certain auto zone stores stocked 1 or 2 of them and some just don't stock them at all. I had to drive to a few locations to have enough for my entire car. When you get some time I'd be interested to see a couple pics!

I was curious about that too but they do still fade like the standard bulbs.

Wouldn't it be easier to go to autozone's website and have them shipped to the store of your choice? The just drive and pick them up?

EDIT: Nevermind, no luck in finding them on the site.
