I have the LED reverse lights and to be honest they arent that much better IMO. The reason I say this is because like a "projector" its pointed further which means things in close vicinity arent as visible compared to the oem bulbs. Then I purchased the non projector LED ones with 28 SMD kind and they are a little better, but OEM ones are a lot easier to see in the NAVI screen.

If you have a navigation with a back up camera, DO NOT GET CREE LEDS. They are garbage when it comes to visibility on the navi display at night.
Recently switched from JLC Cree to 19LED 8W 5k V-LED Reverse lights.
I admit, the first 2 months I had the JLC Crees installed I was really hyped, happy, and proud to have them. It wasn't long after until I started realizing that I couldn't see shit on my navi back-up camera while in reverse.
The Cree LEDs shine light in a straight focused beam. It's so bright and focused that on the back-up camera display it just shows as a white hot spot in the CENTER of the navi. The left, right, above, and under is still dark and hard to see.
Not only does it still leave areas unlit, but the area that is in the center of the navi camera is still hard to see because the Cree LEDs are so bright that it's kind of hard to distinguish and make or see things in the back up camera.... Here's the picture of JLC and than V-LEDs..

JLC W/ BRAKES APPLIED (Somewhat lights up the areas that the JLC doesn't illuminate)

19LED 8Watt 5K V-LEDS (no brakes applied at all, just parking/e-brake)

No competition.... OK The JLCs do cost only $40, and the V-LEDs cost $50. Luckily for me, I purchased it from V-LEDs while they were on sale for only $34.99.

"vietxquangstah" are you saying LED's and not as good as a bulb to light up the area they are made to do so? If so please post details on what bulb and what you base that on. I would like to change the OEM bulbs for bling factor and to gain better lights to see behind me when reversing.

Thank you, I would go with white (5k) bulbs or a any (5k) led that will improve the lighting when reversing if I could find details on which one or the other. I do not have a camera so not a concern for me. Before some one posts it I do not want to go crazy and install HID bulbs and have a switch to blind tail gaiters.

Oh well....
I will second Vietxguangstah, the Cree lights sucks like a freaking Dyson. Just got them installed this morning and tested them about an hour ago, HUGE disappointment. I will be switching to the OEM tomorrow. Anyone wants them? I will gladly mail them to you, free of charge... No seriously!! I cant return them so might as well give them to someone who can find a better use for them.
Dont get me wrong, cree look great when you are looking at them, will pretty much burn your optic nerves, but looking in the backup camera or just looking back, they look hideous. DONT DO IT.....

Haha they are pretty universal size aren't they just stick them everywhere else that it fits I believe te 168/194/921/2825 are all the same connector size just varied wattages I ended up reusing my g35 sedans bulbs into all the misc slots

just a thought on the back up camara at night...one thing i noticed with my MDX back up camara. when the headlights are on the lighting on the camara is not the greatest. when i turn the headlights off, the back up camara actually gets brighter. just an observation i have made with the camara on my MDX. have you guys tried this?

I ordered these bulbs, and I thought they were brighter than the CREE LEDs.

I do like the idea of adding lights to around the licence plate. The one posted though if you read the reviews it's junk. Plus if I was going to do it I would possibly want more LED's or just the option to add strips of LED light around the plate or next the OEM lights or under the rear bumper...lol or in the rear window like the OEM brake light.

It does that because when the headlights are on it assumes it's night time outside so the interior lighting including the navigation display and back up camera will appear dim. To get around this, adjust the brightness of the interior lights while the headlights are on using the brightness bar (the one located below the gauge clusters in the TL, idk where it's located in the mdx)

Installed the LEDs I bought but turns out they weren't bright enough :/ 3020 13smd just can't do it so I'm going to try one more time with 5050 13smd and see if it makes a difference
Can you lost some pics of how bright yours are during day light etc? I did a small test before I installed it. When I put my car in reverse normally I can see the light reflect off the car across the street after LEDs it didn't at all so the light just must not be as "bright" as the stocks. They look nice but definetly not brighter.

after I bought a pair LED reverse light for my Accord, I told myself never again I would pay for an LED bulb, I would rather stick with my regular blue tinted bulb.

Good lic plate bulbs help get the ground lighting for mirrors. But I agree for focused light the cree's are awesome. For dash parking in reverse they are kinda hyped.
I usually use my DRL's while backing because it means I am about to shut off my car and the navi is a little brighter. But I have my settings all the way down.
When I don't see curb anymore in my screen I stop. Don't wanna scratch my RV6 mufflers lol.

Yeah, the old school stuff...

The LEDs might not work properly here without some sort of a mod or a chip. Plus, I dont think going LED will make much of a difference in the parking/indicator lights. But that could just be me.
