Replacing the power steering gear box

Hi All,

During my recent service visit to the dealer they suggested the following declaring my car is not safe to drive. And the cost estimate is around 4K.

The power steering rack is leaking fluid on the right
Right front inner tie rod failure
The right front inner CV boot is leaking grease

L had done my past two services there in the last 6 months and none of these came up during those services..

I met with an accident two years ago and was fixed by a body shop.

I am planning to check with that body shop as the work done by them is covered by warranty.. Also want to get an opinion of an independent mechanic.

What's the best course of action ?? Any suggestions pls..

Buy the parts from a vendor on here for cheap. Find a good indy mechanic in your area to do the work.

One stealer quoted me $3k for some work, then said they'll do it for $2.3k. I bought the parts on my own, went to a trusted mechanic, and came away paying a total of $875 including tip.
