Replacing 06 front bumper with an 07 Type S

My 06 front bumper is damaged, so i am going to replace it with an 07 Type S one.

This should be a direct fit correct?

Should i get stock 07 grill and fog lights, or is there better options?

Do i need to run new wiring to install the fog lights?

Is this all i need to do, to make the swap?

Nope, type-s bumper won't fit from what i heard, it's slightly larger then base TL's, the grill is larger I think, but I'm no expert. and yes you will need to run wiring for the fogs.

^WRONG....The 07 Type-S bumper is a direct fit on a 06 TL.

You will however need 07-08 upper and lower grill components including fog lights and wiring.

There are a lot of threads covering this conversion...

Thanks,

So far my understanding is that the 07 type s front bumper, will be a direct fit on my 06 base TL.

and that i need to purchase the following:

07 Type S front bumper
Fog housing
fog wiring/bulbs
lower side fog trim/grilles
Center grille parts, V, cross bass W/emblem, backing

Will it be cheaper if i buy it painted at the dealership, Or go to a body shop and have them try and match the paint and do the installation. What's the best way to go? not trying to go cheaper if it there is a chance of a bad outcome...

I think that is all the parts you need.

It's going to be cheaper to buy the bumper unpainted and have a shop paint it. They should be able to match the paint without a problem, just give them the paint/color code for your TL. A quality paint job will probably run you $300-$400. Apart from the wiring, installation is very easy, you should be able to do most of it yourself.
