Has anyone had their new TL repainted on a certain part like the fenders? How was the match especially on the anthracite?

 

it all depends on what body shop you go to. if you go to reputable shop you should get a good job.

You know that area by your gas tank? If you were to repaint that panel, wouldn't you have to repaint that entire strip all the way to the side of your windshield, since that's technically all one piece? That's got to be a bitch to match.

 

How does bodyshops get the paint? Do they order from Honda or whichever company makes the paint?

 

they use the color code of the car, its universal when they get the paint. you can request that the body shop get the paint from the factory but that is usually extra $$$.

 

my car was painted, the rear bumper (few scrapes), front bumper, front passenger door, ofcourse the fender and ride side passenger mirror (mirror was replaced). All that costed me around $1500

 

WELL GET THIS.......I just had mines painted! SSM. Reputable body shop. I had some scratches on the door and got a quote of almost $400 to get it painted. THEN....he painted, baked it, took it outside in the sun and it was a little darker than the original. DAMN IT!! Took the car back the next week, got it painted again. Called at 3:30 said it was being washed and should be ready after 4. Got a phone call before 4....."You won't believe what just happend?!", he says. WHAT?! "When I was backing out the car from the shop, there was this truck with an extended tail pipe and it got caught on the front of the passenger side bumper." SHIT NO! It ripped off about a quarter of a ways off. So he ordered another bumper and called to say it was ready after another two days. THEN.....he says, "Oh another thing....the front rim is scratched, so I'll have to order a new one too." Does anyone think that'll void the warranty because of the replacement of the bumper?

 

You are taking your car to IDIOTS!!!! These guys sound like they are the 3 Stooges. Find another shop!!
